Interesting to note: The US embassy is less than a mile away from this restaurant.

US officials are saying the attack pattern seems like it could be Al-Qaeda.

However, ISIS has claimed this is an attack of theirs.

10-12 hostages have been taken to the hospital.

I'm seeing graphic pictures of dead people inside the restaurant but it hasn't been confirmed any innocent people died in the attack.

(CNN)The deadliest terrorist attack on U.S. soil since 9/11 followed a clarion call by ISIS to its supporters in the United States to launch attacks during Ramadan, the Islamic Holy Month, which started last week.

In an audio recording released on May 21, ISIS spokesman Abu Mohammed al Adnani called for "a month of hurt" in the United States as well as Europe.

"The smallest action you do in the heart of their land is dearer to us than the largest action by us, and more effective and more damaging to them," al Adnani said, according to a translation by the SITE Intelligence Group.

"And if one of you wishes and tries hard to reach the Islamic State, then one of us wishes to be in your place to hurt the Crusaders day and night without sleeping, and terrorize them so that the neighbor fears his neighbor."

It was the latest in a series of calls for attacks by Adnani, whose fatwas describing hitting the West as religious duty have motivated multiple plotters on both sides of the Atlantic to launch attacks.

It was also the most strident call for attacks yet and a sign ISIS is mobilizing its supporters and fighters to wage an all-out campaign of revenge as it loses territory in Syria, Iraq and Libya.

Western intelligence officials believe Adnani oversees ISIS' external attack plotting and had command responsibility for the Paris and Brussels attacks.

------------------------

In 2015, attacks occurred in France, Kuwait, Syria, Somalia, and Tunisia, one day following a deadly massacre in Syria. The day of attacks has been dubbed "Bloody Friday" by international media and "Black Friday" among Francophone media in Europe and North Africa.

Three days before the attack, ISIL's Abu Mohammad al-Adnani called on jihadists to “make the month of Ramadan a calamity on the apostates” by initiating attacks and seeking “martyrdom.” The three attacks in France, Kuwait and Tunisia were launched early on Friday morning.

Then maybe you should have mentioned the IS and terrorists groups similar to IS (there weren't that many which took part in it in 2015 anyway)  instead of all muslim extremists and radicals all over the world? :saladga:

And this only started last year, they only "called" for it twice. That's not enough to call Ramadan a month of Terrorism just because it happened twice.

They targeted foreigners and non-Muslims :wtf:

It sounds more like Al-Qaeda.

This is so horrible, Bangladesh is extremely poor and one of the world's most densely populated countries, it's probably so easy to do this type of attack, since I don't believe they have any proper intelligence.

"This month is supposedly particularly violent with the last ten days and last weekend being the best time for radicals to kill themselves in acts of terror...or some crazy thinking like that."

"Notice I said from radicals. They make this month about violence."

"Once again, for extremists.

"...as many of the extremist groups feel that it calls for an uptick in their violent efforts."

I don't know how much clearer I could have been. I mentioned it in every comment I made. I was referring to radical, extremist terrorist groups and made that clear in every comment.

For the fifth time now...for many of these groups, this month has been declared to be a month of violence. I never, not once, said that this month is designated as a month of terror for those who are not in these terrorist groups. Don't put words in my mouth.

I'm starting to see why liberals don't used "radical Islam" when talking about attacks like this. People clearly cannot differentiate when one is speaking about terrorist radical scum and your regular Muslim neighbor :air:

@Whispering the way you wrote your first comment, it's easy to understand that you meant that the month is meant to be violent as if it has basis in religion. You even specified what last ten days are supposedly "best" for.

If you just said, terrorists called for more attacks in Ramadan, that wouldn't be taken any different way.

He was referring to this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2015_Ramadan_attacks

"Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant senior leader Abu Mohammad al-Adnani had released an audio message three days earlier encouraging militants everywhere to attack during the month of Ramadan."

"Three days before the attack, ISIL's Abu Mohammad al-Adnani called on jihadists to “make the month of Ramadan a calamity on the apostates” by initiating attacks and seeking “martyrdom.” The three attacks in France, Kuwait and Tunisia were launched early on Friday morning."

Although not coordinated together, this time of the month is one where ISIS has called for terror attacks. Just look at this week.

@Whispering Did you even read my previous post properly? What you highlighted is exactly what my point was but you wrote it against me. :air:

You never once wrote "terrorists" or IS.

I'm sorry, am I missing the declaration part somewhere? :saladga:

Yes, exactly. Thank you!

After all this argument I get what you meant but if you wrote it properly the first time, would have saved all our energy. :saladga:

Even though it only started last year and isn't really a thing.
