"Leave the EU - no more Polish vermin" signs left in UK xenophobic attack

(CNN) - Racial abuse is on the rise in post-Brexit Britain, a Conservative British MP said as police confirmed they were investigating several racially motivated crimes.

Anti-immigrant leaflets saying "Leave the EU - no more Polish vermin" were put on cars near a school, local police said, the day after the country voted to leave the European Union.

On Sunday, the Polish Social and Cultural Association in Hammersmith, west London, was allegedly vandalized with a racist slogan.

I feel like people will try and dispute this, but being in the UK it just feels so obvious that this is happening now more than ever. It's honestly shocking and disgusting and it makes me feel ashamed of my country. It's like the result of this referendum gave all these closet racists an excuse to "come out". I've seen all kinds of horrible videos and photos since Friday. Some people honestly thought that us leaving the EU would mean all immigrants would be deported 

I'm genuinely scared that this will get worse.

I didn't want to say incase anyone got offended but it does feel a little bit like the kind of stuff that we have observed from America lately. It's horrible. And I find it bad as a white British person, I can't imagine how people from different backgrounds that live here are feeling right now, especially with all this stuff plastered over the media.

Not that I'm suggesting all 'leave' voters are racist/responsible for this, but all of these incidents over the past few days have clearly signified that Brexit has spurred these people on.

We are all decedents of immigrators, whether it be our parents or our ancestors a hundred years ago.

Terrible that we have so many self-entitled people in this world. Just because you were born in a country like England or U.S. doesn't mean you're the only one who can enjoy the benefits of the citizenship.

Yeah, it's true. I'm actually surprised it's coming out now in the UK tbh. I thought it was past that. 

Just history repeating itself, I guess. Looks like nationalism and fascism is growing stronger again.
