Maybe the crashing was bad timing, but that's no excuse to all of a sudden disregard the whole movement. It's a particularly issue amongst a lot of ethnic minority groups- for example, a lot of aspects from my Asian/Islander ancestral culture still has a lot of rooted homophobia and sexism in it- so, aspects of pride that did focus on that particular paradigm in a lot of minority communities would be really compelling and important, to me. The movement is disregarded because of their timing and tactics, that is the point. The gay rights movement in America stemmed from a riot against police misconduct, if anyone can feel kinship to BLM it should be Queer Americans.
