Yep, what I said in my original post. I agree with the mission and ideology but I just hate how its been derailed and how things are being carried out these days

They are more of a problem Btw because I searched about it right now (might not be enough though) it's true that around the 30% of the black people that are being killed by the police was unarmed. But that is also true for almost the 20% for the white people that are being killed. So I don't know why we actually NEED a specific team talking about black lives ..I just feel like it only creates a bigger "gap" between black and white people

Could you please post the sites you went to when searching for information on BLM in the U.S.? We can infer from the fact that whites are the vast majority of people in the U.S., and that they are arrested at higher rates than blacks, that they have more run-ins with police than blacks do. With that in mind, if your numbers are correct, why are unarmed black people being killed at a higher rate than unarmed white people? https://www.fbi.gov/about-us/cjis/ucr/crime-in-the-u.s/2014/crime-in-the-u.s.-2014/tables/table-43 https://www.census.gov/quickfacts/table/PST045215/00 We need a specific team talking about black lives because blacks are the vast minority compared to whites. History has shown us that when people don't have a loud voice proclaiming the issues in their country, those issues are often ignored. BLM gives African Americans a strong and united voice in facing the problem of police shootings. As for BLM creating a "bigger 'gap'" between blacks and whites, that's not the intention of the movement. It's not blacks against whites, it's the powerless standing up against the powerful. If some people view this as a rift between the races, it's simply because they view one race as the powerful and the other race as the powerless. It is not our differences that divide us. It is our inability to recognize, accept, and celebrate those differences. - Audre Lorde

It hurts so badly to see that a community already SO disenfranchised as we are, has members who are hellbent on dividing us all up even further. Like, wtf? I'm gonna start using this rational argument in person next time I notice it happening.
