Evidently the term "fat" is a micro aggression, we must say POC² (People of Chunk.) Here for it. Inside my head I have the best time

They just look foolish. Where else do they go though? Here are the police apologising for the past treatment of LGBTQ members, a group of POC LGBTQ members protest that there are STILL problems with how POC LGBTQ members are treated by the police. It seems completely understandable and logical that this would be the place they choose to protest? It seems like the best place for them to put pressure on the police force to make internal, systematic changes that will help decrease the discrimination countless POC LGBTQ members face, currently, at the hands of the police. He made ignorant posts for sure, but you busting his balls about a ''fat joke'' looks just as petty lol. I'm latino, so I guess I'm a part of the POC LGBTQ community you're so fiercly defending. And the way you're defending this, yeah it makes me uncomfortable that you're speaking on behalf of me as a part of that community the way you do. I didn't "aggressively attack" anyone or anything. I am mad as **** because I'm sick of the racism and misogyny on this forum. I'm also sick of people not knowing jack **** about their own community, their own culture, the origin's of what made them who they are today. And I am sorry that you feel uncomfortable for "speaking on behalf of your community" .... oh wait. I'm not. As a DOMINICAN + Indian feminine queer BOY I can say whatever I feel like. ctherainbow 3,162
I think what throws me off is that the protest was in very poor taste. If this was a good-faith effort by the police department to make amends, that's a great moment, and it should be allowed to happen without interruption so there can be some healing. If the protest occurred before or immediately following the event, or at the police station, where the problem is rooted, I would be in complete support, rather than having some reservations. ACT UP didn't interrupt the distribution of potentially useless early AIDS drugs with a protest, even if the drugs might have only been a half-assed solution. They went and protested at the root of the problem, at the drug companies' headquarters and at government agencies and committee meetings. I take a similar view when looking at this protest; there were far better timing and location options that would have had a bigger positive impact and made fewer enemies within the LGBT community. I don't take exception to the BLM movement at all; there is clear racism still evident in this country, and people need to make themselves heard so that the people in power do something about it. But making yourself heard doesn't have to mean being rude to other minority communities(or, for POC LGBT persons, your own community) in the process. I'm not saying "don't protest", or "all BLM protesters are rude and ignorant"; I'm just saying there are vastly more respectful ways to go about it, which would also have more positive impact. This wasn't the best protest choice. I'm talkin' 'bout forever, baby.
