Seeka 12,372
I consider both albums equal to each other, as I do most of Gaga's work. Those who prefer The Fame probably prefer Gaga's older music, her older image, and probably dislike where ARTPOP went. hose who prefer Gaga's ARTPOP probably want Gaga to go off the beaten path, or enjoy it if she wasn't as poppy, or they really don't care about Gaga's career (in the best way possible, I mean). My criticisms for both albums: Starstruck is an overrated piece of sh!t. It's catchy, but honestly, it's Gaga answer to a rapper feature, but the same could be said about Jewels 'n' Drugs, though Jewels 'n' Drugs quality is still being fought over. However, Starstruck at least lyrically, is lazy. Brown Eyes is not my favorite Gaga ballad. While I enjoy it, I believed Honest Eyes or Future Lover were better written and should've been in its place. It's very repetitive and droning. Eh, Eh, while not an awful song, is unfortunately placed, cutting into the feel of the album (if you listen to is straight through) and should've been placed later in the album, like after Brown Eyes or before/after Summerboy. ARTPOP's own tracklist is not from its own drawbacks. MANiCURE is weirdly after JnD and before DWUW, when it should be honestly before JnD. Donatella and Swne could honestly be moved up to precede DWUW. Switching around Fashion! and Donatella would easily solved the mess tat follows. People talk about The Fame reinvented music, but honestly, the song structures are by far more the most normal she has. Though one could complain that ARTPOP was far too weird in certain structures. ARTPOP isn't too relatable, but I can make a bigger list of songs I enjoy and don't relate to than songs I enjoy and relate to. I could go own, but I won't. Personally, I prefer ARTPOP, though not by much. My favs change by the day.
Pacify Him 9,073
Fame puts me back into my teenage years and the album sounds like what Katy Perry would make *cringe* only more classy. ARTPOP is like dark pink. Feminine but very hardcore and mature. I’m getting on your nerves
Eros92 2,513
The Fame. It's just a timeless album. Even now it sounds fresh. Like there hasn't been an album like that since.

Hexxx 2,244
The Fame. It gives me life. ARTPOP kinda makes me sad for some reason. I guess it's because gaga herself didn't enjoy the creative process of the album. memomemome 1,478
I liked ARTPOP. But I think ARTPOP is kinda The Fame on drugs. Y know...
notamember 667
The Fame is great obviously, as are all of Gaga's albums, but it has too much filler in my opinion. Every song on ARTPOP is concise and belongs to the album and I love every song. I think it's because whenever I am depressed, I can start the album, and by the time I'm to Applause, I feel happy again. Nothing makes me happier and calms me down more than that album. Just my opinion though.

That album has so many fillers and plain bad songs. Only the singles were great. ARTPOP is way more consistent. The ARTPOP bashing bandwagon is out of control. Umm the fact that you don't get the album doesn't mean that the songs are "bad" or "fillers".There is a REASON why the album sold 15m and this is not just because it had the smash hits ,the album is amazing! MichelMonster 343
The Fame has at least fantastic singles. FartPoop is complete disaster in every way.

Gagz4Gaga 7,278
Can't believe people are saying The Fame is underrated. 15 million copies of the albums sold, 2 #1s, and 2 Grammys. Those alone justified it's pop status. But yeah, poor sis ARTPOP deserved way way better than flop-ish singles, mediocre album sales and overall media bashing. nostalgia’s for geeks
