Please don't talk about the best artist as it shows a lack of understanding about what constitutes art. And the process for making art. I'm not trying to be a bitch, I know you are complimenting Kanye's work and vision, but using language like "best" goes against the spirit of art. lmao Did you forget you posted this in here: "Derivative art pop. Reeks of art appropriation and shock value and points scoring. Pure marketing and self promotion. Art for people who hate art." "It's actually less than crap. It's crap that thinks it doesn't stink." And the posts you liked lmfao.

Like are you actually for real. Like I said on the previous page: if you think this video is artless, disgusting, vulgar and attention-wh0ring then at least have the ****ing self-respect to be consistent enough to condemn Gaga for the same things. People here act like this forum is Carrie Underwood Daily or Keith Urban Daily for christsakes it's Lady Gaga she barely has clothes on. I'm surprises this place tries to potray itself to be so conservative sometimes... when the only people that's more naked than Gaga is Kim and Rihanna (barely). lol

The meat dress could very well be interpreted as an art statement. For example, I remember reading about it being a commentary on the decaying state of art and how any great piece of art , just like meat, will inevitably disintegrate and be lost through time. Kanye's vid could also be interpreted from a political viewpoint. He included two pretty prominent political figures (pretty shitty ones at that) not to mention the idea of "fame/celbrity" always intersects with political figures and how we perceive them, especially in the modern tmz filled world. The point is there is no one interpretation. Their both crazy ambiguous and visually stirring statements that managed to create controversy and get the mainstream public talking. Absolutely People here like to forget she wore a meat bikini on the cover of Japanese Vogue months before the VMA's. There was no political undertone at all, no mention of gay rights, nada. I can imagine she just came up with the idea of the dress first and thought of what it could represent later. And there's nothing wrong with that. Even if a discussion unravels that has nothing to do with the artist's intention, it can be valuable because other people can share ideas that stimulate and inspire and that's what it's all about in the end imo. That's literally the only thing you could take away from your post though. Kanye came up with a lame idea in two seconds, Gaga breathes her art. How is that not an accurate depiction of what you wrote? Except I said it was just my interpretation. lol I don't like double standards and hypocrisy. An opinion is not the same as a false or hypocritical accusation. Not in my book at least. The only time I did an essay-ish post here was because Lord Temptation asked me to explain my reading of the video. So bye at that false and hypocritical accusation. When you actually describe Kanye's artistic process, as the only way to solidify your original point, as if you were, there you are engaging in fact-treatment. Stop pulling things that don't belong to this convo into it. You claimed that people liking this piece was a clue to why they didn't understand ARTPOP, I asked you to explain and you didn't even reply on-topic. And now we're here. That's how it went. I never claimed this forum was full of them, and I never claimed people needed to duplicate my ways to "know what's right" or whatever. I don't know that either. And as far as obsessive goes.. lol. I don't think calling out blatant hypocrisy is going to obsessive lengths. In any case, you dragged my other posts in our conversation because you didn't want to actually answer my question. Now you've just decided to swing personal insults at me based on everything but our actual convo. I'd call thàt going to obsessive lengths to prove yourself capable of right judgment, especially when you write things like: "you're too caught up, I mean, smart to realize how far behind you are" "you're making yourself sound like a JB/Selena Instagram fan." "your laughable analysis" "oh boy, are you far behind" Even if I act snotty (and I know I do frequently) I know I can back it up with actual solid arguments (even if subjective) at the least. you're extremely caught up. legit makes me nauseous. is this you? I don't think it's right to assume that fans here are bashing Gaga for appearing nude in magazines though. That's something I have legit never seen here, while I have seen more than enough posts slamming other artists for doing the same thing. So yeah, my assumption was stupid, but assuming that you also thought Gaga was a vulgar, attention-wh0ring unartistic mess was the right thing to do, really? I did not say that...You are making an invalid assumption once again.

Someone that isn't famous.. like the people in the original painting. 100% unrelated. How the hell is that illustrated by the video? I asked if you believe the title of the song to be "misleading" (your word) or ironic (mine)? And if the music video is also ironic, as well as the lyrics to the song. Like for example when he raps about having sex with Taylor Swift and making her famous? I believe you know how irony works. Secondly, I believe that no-one is ordinary. Everyone is extraordinary in their own way. Often in a way that is unknown to others. Thirdly, how can you say that anything is 100% unrelated? What gives you the right to say that your interpretation is more valid than mine? Are you telling me and everyone else that art is not subjective?
