So you really have gained nothing. In the long term I believe we now have potential. The number remained at £350 million we had to allocate £350 million every week the eu chose to give us a small amount back but it was in their untrustworthy hands to decide. People have had enough! Why are you sticking to the 350 million figure? It's outright wrong. UK sends around 250million in order to engage in the EU's activities. So basically the UK would have to spend money to re-enter the EU market and reform its trade deals which would be considerably less in favor of it. It would also lose a lot of the funding from the EU, most notably around Wales. You aren't gaining a "small" amount back. You can argue that the EU did have authority over the macroscopic dealings of the UK but to claim that the EU controlled the citizens of the UK is preposterous. According to statistics, the people that have had enough are consistently shown to be the poorer, less informed, and less educated of the bunch who don't even realize that the only reason they aren't poorer, even less informed, and even less educated is because the EU prevented that from happening. I wish them luck because their situations are about to get terminally worse. This anti-intellectualist mentality needs to stop. No the people do not know what's in their best interest compared to politicians and economists. They rarely do. What you're seeing isn't an act of democracy, but an idiocracy. Oh well. The die has been cast. Britain will recover over time, but the United Kingdom as we know it is doomed. I hope your life isn't too disrupted. I wish you well. Edited just now by LebaneseDude. People who seem to be unsure voted remain whereas most passionate and people who read up on this seemed to vote leave with sooo much passion!!! I'm not going to pretend to know or argue UK politics with you. You know your country better than I do. The only thing is that right now there has been a huge negative impact resulting from the vote and it affects not just the UK. The US Dow is down 400 points because of the vote too. Today we have decided to leave a corrupt organisation, which has took advantage of us for decades now, we have gained control over all our decisions, we have said goodbye to having to allocate £350 million a week to fund the EU which is completely falling apart. With the money we are saving we can build a new hospital every week. This decision was a no brainer for the benefits to our nation. The EU may end up splitting up but Europe is still intact we will still trade to European nations they will still trade with us NATO is still strong. Wooo Lord honey they've already said that money is not actually going to be allocated to the NHS. Y'all been had. Like Bernie Sanders said, this is a sign that the global economy isn't working for everybody. I just hope there's no break down of cooperation It feels like and local people from where I live feel like the whole campaign was so biased in favour of remain. All of the government leaflets and adverts were all for remain and it felt like it was all a cover up. I watched all the debates and I agreed with all of the leave arguments so I decided to join the leave side after being unsure for a while. But it wasn't actually fixed because somehow we are leaving. Its been such a weird day, people have been jumping round in excitement dancing in the street carrying uk and England flags around and then others have been crying. Its just soo weird. But I'm sure we will be fine in the end.
