Queer Rights Advocates Stage Massive Protest Outside Trump Tower

Supporters of LGBT, Muslim, and Latino rights gathered outside Trump Towers in New York to protest the presumptive Republican nominee.

“Donald Trump continues to advocate discrimination against peaceful [M]uslims while meeting with anti-gay and anti-transgender hate groups,” gay rights group ACTUP said Tuesday.

The group also criticized the former reality TV star’s “use of the recent massacre at a gay bar in Orlando to polarize Americans.”

Advocates organized a “die in,” where protesters laid on the ground and simulated corpses, to speak out against recent acts anti-gay acts of violence.

Protesters at Tuesday’s rally demanded an end to Trump’s hateful rhetoric.

“The LGBTQ community is a rainbow coalition of races and religious beliefs. While we stand united against any kind of religious bigotry, we will not stand silent while our Muslim LGBTQ brothers and sisters continue to be targets of hate speech,” ACTUP said in a statement.

Trump, who has referred to himself as a supporter of LGBT rights, met with evangelical leaders on Tuesday. One of those was Tony Perkins, the president of the Family Research Council, a group that opposes gay rights and whose leaders often make derogatory comments about LGBT people.

“By continuing to embrace, rather than condemn these hate groups, Donald Trump and the Republican Party are spitting on the victims of the Orlando Massacre,” the group said.

Irrelevant whether or not he is homophobic.

He is actively courting anti-LGBT groups by issuing statements of solidarity and support and is set to appoint Supreme Court justices that have agendas dedicated to overturning LGBT advancements.

Stop using the ambiguity regarding his own stance to justify anything. His actions are the ones that matter.

Ok? So what actions has Trump taken against the LGBT community?

Hillary has taken action, lending her voice and "influence" (as you like to call it to justify her paid speeches) to undermine LGBT rights. Meanwhile Trump has been instituting a LGBT non-discrimination policy at his businesses for decades. 

And so Hillarh Clinton can take millions of dollars from countries and groups that EXECUTE gay people, but Trump can't name a few people who are against gay marriage as his (meaningless) advisors???

I literally just told you that it's not about his personal stance. It's about his executive stance as president. Why are you giving me irrelevant arguments?

If you're trying to give me quotes of nondiscrimination policy in his businesses then you would know Hillary had the exact same stance with her own employees. What's the point you're trying to make?

When she has she ever undermined LGBT rights?  Literally never. She supported her husband's decision for DOMA and DADT by providing reasonable justification that MANY LGBT members agree on. She didn't influence them at all.

Hillary hasn't taken money from any country. The Clinton Foundation has received money, and if you're going to play that card, how do you accept Trump when he has businesses in those very same countries? His foreign experience has him hosting pageants in the UAE which has anti-gay laws in place

And trump hasn't issued any executive decisions yet, has he? If you say his stances don't matter, why does his stances of Supreme Court judges matter? He could evolve now that it's politically advantageous for his, just like your candidate cowardly did.
