I noticed that too. She calls herself an ally now instead of including herself in the community? Being bisexual you would be lgbt as well. Maybe she feels weird saying it now since she's marrying a man I dunno

She's gone back and forth on how she identifies. At one point way back in TF era she said she didn't call herself Bi because she had never been in love with a woman, even though she had dalliances.

The thing is she's not as young anymore. She's grown up and obviously wants to try different things . Old gaga is never coming back

She grew up, she changed. That's what happens in life. It doesn't make you fake, or that you didn't know who you were. Gaga started out when she was 22 and she's now 30. 8 years is a long time. You're not the same person you were 8 years ago, particularly at this age. Are you the same person you were at 10 and 18? The same person at 16 and 24? The same person at 18 and 26? So why should you be the same person at 22 and 30? These are very much milestone ages, when a person finds themselves and is allowed to change their whole beliefs and way of living and that's 100% natural. Gaga was a single girl in her 20's, she was taking back a bad boy ex, but now that's all different. She's in a committed relationship with her partner of 5 years and she's been engaged to him for nearly 1.5 years. Feeling settled will have brought about a change in her, as it does in all people when they're in a serious relationship. She has also developed her music style from her younger days and has gone through bad parts of her career (the BTW/EY controversy, broken hip, label not supporting AP, split with management) that will have changed her perspective on things. If she has children, she will also change again. Big things happening in your life changes a person as well as age. If it doesn't change you at all, that's a bad thing.

Gaga still retains her old spirit. On her last tour, which was less than 2 years ago, she was getting changed onstage with her modesty barely covered, she was running about and throwing herself on the floor, flinging her wigs in the air, drinking bottles of beer passed to her from the audience and swearing like a trooper. She's still wild, she never lost that. And for anyone doubting her love for the gays, she encouraged a gay proposal on stage too. Gaga has done so much for the gays and still is and just because she doesn't mention something 24/7 doesn't mean she's ceased support. We haven't seen her on tour for her new stuff yet. For all we know, she'll be as wild as ever. Until she gives us new material, we won't know.

When Gaga goes completely generic, featuring the most basic names on her singles, loading her videos with celebrity cameos, takes all her music off streaming sites except Tidal, makes her album exclusive for paying customers only, stops visting the whole world on her tours, stops supporting her fans, etc. then I'll say that she's no longer the Gaga we used to know. But until that day comes, her same spirit remains, she's just a bit more pared-back these days.

RubberHeartt, I changed it from a 'fraud' to 'different' since the implications of a fraud are worse than what you described in your OP.

I have been feeling a bit weird about Gaga myself. I just wish she would stop being so confusing. I brought this up with some other members -- her 'I only did music because I couldn't do acting' thing is so strange to me. I just want her to be clear with us and to keep us in the loop like she used to. I do wonder if she's happy because some of her behavior is out-of-character, but if she is, then I'm happy.

Thank you for asking people to keep it clean, I really appreciate it.

Than you. I really didnt know what word to use. And yeah. I dont know, maybe she's just confused. She keeps going back and forth on many things. Maybe her first responce is her true self, but she is afraid her fan base will turn against her for saying that, so she goes back and forth. But like you said, as long as she is happy, than so am I.

I don't think that's quite how she meant it.  While it's clear from her bit parts on Sopranos, her theatre background, and the fact that she was enrolled in the Drama dept at Tisch that theatre and acting may have been her first choice, music would still have been a big part of what she did because there is no doubt she spent a huge amount of time training her voice and music skills.   And if acting was truly her end game she would have stayed in Tisch, but chose to pursue a career in music because that is where she was feeling drawn at the time.

It was always clear to me that Stefani had put on a "Ziggy Stardust" persona, that while not completely fictional certainly had a large element of performance art to it and was definitely the fearless and confident person that Stefani wanted to project so she could hide her own insecurities and try to keep a bit of a wall between "Stefani" and the crazy pop music world.   The more I learned about her background the more obvious that became.  I had a feeling that coming out as that sort of persona was going to end up haunting her at some point when she inevitably felt the need to escape it or change things up.  At least David was David for a while before he was Ziggy.

"I'm not real I'm theatre."  I'm good with celebrating how brilliant of a performance art piece it really was, while allowing her to move on to the next stage.

Bad Bromance

People mature, evolve and change.  It's called growing up, guys.  If she were to remain the same, how boring would that be?  I bet those who complain would be the first to drag her because she got stuck in TFM and BTW eras.

I don't care what you think about unless it is about me.

See, I'd like to agree seeing it sounded that way after the Golden Globes, but after she repeated it during her interview with Jaime Lee Curtis, and how she spoke about it, it's really starting to seem like the truth.

I knew that Gaga would branch in all types of art forms throughout her career from the start, but I always assumed music would be the central root. I'm starting to feel like music is just another branch and we have yet to see what Gaga truly is, artistically.

Like everyone here has said  "She changed". The "Gaga" we knew from The Fame, The Fame Monster , The Born This Way era and the ARTPOP era is gone. I miss those golden days but I usually just revisit them by watching old performances and music videos. I enjoyed the cheek to cheek era though and I'm excited for the second jazz album whether it releases before Gaga's 5th solo album or not. Do I think she's a dimwit when it comes to politics? Absolutely but I don't care much about it since I don't take celebrities opinions on politics seriously. I thought her speech at Orlando was extremely genuine. Usually I think Gaga over dramatizes and exaggerates her emotions like those crocodile tears in the HBO special, but her tears during her Orlando speech were real. She's been supporting the LGBT community for her entire career since 2008 and that's one thing you can't deny has left her rainbow soul.
