hmm 979
She's a celebrity - she was never gonna be as relatable as some people expected her to be, but that doesn't mean she can't or doesn't want the world to be a better place like plenty of other of celebrities . Tbf she isn't 'one of us' because the lives of the super-rich are very different to that of the average person, nor should we expect her to be. Her comments in 2011-12 might have been slightly hyperbolic at the time but like you said, they may have still had a positive impact on someone. The artrave M+G's were probably just to compensate for the lower prices and demand for the tour in general and any cosmetic surgery she considers is nobody else's business . Although It'll be interesting to see how the Youtube thing pans out though but it seems to be that the elite pushing for the changes have the same ignorance towards the situation as the British government had in its attempts to curb internet piracy. But we can't oversee how she changed our lives through music and helped the LGBQT community. Gaga herself is confused about the Stefani/Gaga thing and I'm sure with this upcoming era she'll clearly express who she is right now. Honestly I agree with this. I think she is extremely confused as well. I also think that people she hangs out with at any given time heavily influence her
AlexanderLevi2 5,849
I like her more now. I think when she first hit the scene, she was that cool crazy kid that everyone wants to know and now I feel like now that we know her, we see behind the image. She changed. Everyone does/will (including everyone on this site). People forget that she is 30 instead of 20 and there are huge changes every single year in your 20s. People also sometimes isolate themselves from people to find themselves. I honestly believe Gaga is just giving herself some time to connect with herself. We will see her full blown again soon. Just let the girl enjoy her success, she's earned it. Currently listening to Joanne

MaryJaneHolland 77,348
A question to everyone who uses the term 'old Gaga': Don't we get a new Gaga each era? What do you mean when you say 'old Gaga'? #JustAskin'
Sara 1,128
Lady Gaga has changed over 10 years. So have I. So have all of us if we are lucky. I've done things that I said I'd never do 10 years ago. Does that make me a fraud? No, that just means I'm learning and growing. I'm a different person that I was 10 years ago. Does that mean the old version of me was fake? No, that's just who I was. I'll repeat this true story I've told before: Me and a friend went to eat at Panera. I ordered a chicken sandwhich. My friend look at me all shocked and said "But Sara, earlier today you said you were going to get the Asian salad!!!". I told her: "You would make a great Lady Gaga fan." Don't confuse change with inauthenticity. Don't confuse learning with hypocrisy. Don't confuse changing your mind with lying. If Gaga WASN'T changing, THEN I would be more likely to think she's an inauthentic artist.
gagzus 15,831
the one thing i get confused with is why people think gaga is a persona, it's literally just her nickname/stagename end of. I relate with her more now than before, especially BTW and post-BTW era, since that album she has become more human in my eyes. In the last 2 years she has showed everything ain't unicorn sh*t and rainbows like she used to pretend it was and I think she looks happy and healthy. Her face hasn't changed at all just look at the pic of her working out vs her no makeup pics from like 2009. She's just aged like any human does for example my face has changed quite massively as I have aged and I look almost nothing like i used to does that mean i've had surgery? TheBatman 951
I don't think it was necessarily a fraud, I think she believed what she was saying at the time, but that she has grown out of it. But...She was not eccentric in high school or college as we can see from pictures and videos of her early gigs. "Gaga" happened when Stefani wasn't interesting enough, and a lot of people were involved in creating her look and persona. But I still think she believed in everything she was doing, that she became Gaga. And at some point, she started being a caricature of Gaga (ARTPOP. I think she was over being Gaga by ARTPOP) and now she isn't sure what to do or be it seems. What I think is, if not a fraud then a lie at least, is claiming she was so bullied and ostracized in school. She was a rich girl who got to go to an expensive performing arts school and had more advantages and privilege than most could dream. The whole bullying thing seemed contrived, and she definitely courted the lgbt community more blatantly than any other star I can think of, more than Nick Jonas is now. But she obviously has great love for the lgbt community. It's interesting she doesn't seem to identify as bisexual anymore?

She calls herself an ally now instead of including herself in the community? Being bisexual you would be lgbt as well. Maybe she feels weird saying it now since she's marrying a man I dunno

Part of me actually wouldn't mind Gaga being a B-list artist so that maybe those fans would go away.

It's not her popularity that made me love her, it was her artistry. All the crazy cool costumes and videos and amazing performances. The whole Gaga persona. Popular or not, I would have loved it. And I'm less into jazz covers and gowns, thats just me.
Iwontell 7,312
The answer is a big fkn YES! How DARE you grown up, change your mind about stuff, mature, try to see things from different perspectives, be a tridimensional human person with contradictory **** inside of you like everyone else, Gaga? As GOD as my witness, I'll NEVER do any of those things!!! ATTENTION: (bad) jokes and sarcasm are still a thing, so don't take everything I say literally. Thank you. weed 73,759
I don't think Gaga is acting mooore of a celebrity, I just think it used to be ironic/satire and now it's genuine.
