I thought we were progressing, then saw the comments + like/dislike ratio :rip:

It's just the militantly insecure. Pretty soon the people with lives will come along and everything will even out

I can't believe these comments :interestinga: this video was bout pride, love and acceptance.

Pretty disgusting how people think and how they ignore what the (possible) real purpose was.

After all, discrimination and hate will never dissappear and that's something terrible.

You wanna make a bet? :derpga:

They think they can scare us back into our closets or back into our little solitary patches of obscurity all to protect their delicate sense of "normalcy" and yet we're the oversensitive ones :laughga:

Sis, if anyone's a "special little snowflake", it's the douche that burns a gay pride flag and throws slurs at a gay couple right in front of their child, then they go home and hump their stars-and-bars decorated guns while staring their white Jesus portrait in the eyes :smh:

I'm sorry, I have a migraine and have dealt with quite a few idiots today so I'm feeling hostile :grr:

That was beautiful.

Nod if you wanna make love with the enemy. ❤

I think most ppl did not watch that till very end of video and the first 2/3 of it kind of sounds like these LGBT ppl did not know themself who they are :lana:

i think that most straight ppl are kind of limited in understanding there are different possible identities than M&F relationship building family blah blah. And this video does not have structure consistent enough to adress and educate them. Feels very random tbh, I guess that's why they feel free to hate. Instead of all these slogans and tears I would prefer something more informative and analytical.

Or maybe straight people can realise this isn't a video for them :lana:

I don't want some video on Youtube during Gay Pride Month, in the aftermath of an attack on our community, to be some video geared towards straight people to educate and explain to them what it's like being LGBT. This video was made to "honor and celebrate" the identity of those in the LGBT community, it's not supposed to be a video where they need to explain and justify themselves to straight people.

REALITY

The video itself was amazing and absolutely spectacular, I think YouTube did a fantastic job in representing the LGBTQ+ community, they've always been a huge supporter.

However, the comments and the like/dislike ration on that video is truly sickening and just overall disappointing. I legitimately wanted to just cry over that because I thought we've come and progressed so far only to see how being apart of the LGBTQ+ community is a "mental illness" or that we're "disgusting" or that we're "all going to Hell". It's truly sick and I hope one day we'll live in a world where love is love and not love is male + female, or that everyone has their own gender identity and not just being a cis-gender person.

Ugh. I hate those people. Yeah, you have free speech and all, but respect and the dignity of the community should not be trampled on, disgusting, some of the comments are.

it depends entirely on the category of the video though:

"YouTube drew 104.7 million female U.S. unique visitors in March, more than its 102.5 million U.S. male unique visitors, according to comScore. But men spent an average of 8 hours, 12 minutes on the site, compared to 5 hours, 41 minutes for women. That’s why across 51 content areas measured by OpenSlate, only 6 had a larger female viewership than male viewership. And — male or female — the younger users are, the more time they spend on the platform, comScore data showed.http://digiday.com/platforms/demographics-youtube-5-charts/, dated 2015, however there's nothing about race that i could quickly find

this clearly has a heavy 4chan scent behind the amount of dislikes which isn't a shock, young people are idiots and these comments are horrific but they'll either grow up and realise their mistakes or stay bitter and alone  and the reason i'm quoting you is because it's unfair to instantly point towards the cis white male population instantly like that, these aren't cis white males, these are very rude people no matter their race, gender or sexuality

Then as a member of LGBT community i find this video kind of useless but that's just me. Gay pride is beautiful thing but some people use it for drama imho
