Then why did the so called legend Madonna sampled one of ABBA's songs for her Hung Up?  (besides other lots of sampling and ... inspirations she  had)

Madonna 100% obviously. I love ABBA, they're like founders of pop music like we know it today, but Madonna's collection of hits is untoppable. Like a Prayer, Hung Up (of course thanks to ABBA), Vogue, Papa Don't Preach, Music, Holiday, Express Yourself, Like a Virgin, Into The Groove..  they're all legendary. (ABBA is legendary too, but some of their songs are not that known by the GP, like if you play The Name Of The Game people won't know it's ABBA, but if you play Like a Virgin, it's obviously Madonna)

the idea is that he implied that ABBA are no legends while Madonna is yet they are the very first popular and legendary acts of pop music  why bringing Gaga into this tho?

this thread is not about ABBA vs. madonna in terms of popularity. it's about your opinion and your VS list.

Their melodies are killer and their discography is flawless. Not a single hiccup really. 

For the longest time I hoped Gaga would do an ABBA-esque album. Think of all the bops.
