News 13 Orlando Reports: More than $14 million in donations has been raised among several funds to benefit the families and victims affected by the Pulse nightclub shootings. Funds to help Pulse victims, families break records OneOrlando Fund tops $8.6 million Equality Florida GoFundMe now over $5.6 million The largest fund, the OneOrlando Fund, was announced by Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer the night after the attack. As of Monday, June 20, $8.6 million in donations have poured in, according to the city. Some of its biggest corporate donors include the Walt Disney Co. and Comcast/NBC Universal ($1 million each), Darden Restaurants ($500,000) and Wells Fargo "We are heartbroken by this tragedy and hope our commitment will help those in the community affected by this senseless act," said Bob Chapek, chairman of Walt Disney Parks and Resort. "With 74,000 Cast Members who call Orlando home, we mourn the loss of the victims and offer our condolences to their families, friends and loved ones." One of the first funds set up — the day of the shooting — was a GoFundMe account by LGBT advocacy organization Equality Florida. In just two days, the account swelled to more than $3.1 million — the most a GoFundMe account has ever raised, according to Forbes. As of June 20, it was at $5.6 million. Top donors to that fund include the GoFundMe team itself ($100,000) and Executive Pride ($30,000). Another GoFundMe account set up by Orlando LGBT outreach center The Center has raised more than $429,000. To contribute to the Equality Florida GoFundMe account,go here. The list goes on. A lot of the families can be living in poverty overseas or even here in Orlando. And even as we speak the road remains closed and will be closed for a while.
