politicqxs 358
Rio 2016: Brazil detects Islamic State radical posts in Portuguese The Brazilian Intelligence Agency said in a statement that it "confirms the existence of a group and its way of operating" online with jihadist messages. It said the group was found on Telegram, an online messaging application. "Content relating to extremist ideologies is translated to Portuguese and reproduced in that instant messaging application," the agency said. The group was first detected by the SITE Intelligence Group, a non-government group that monitors extremist communications online. SITE issued an alert saying that people linked to the Islamic State were thought to be spreading messages from the group in Portuguese. Security concerns add to recession, political woes Brazilian authorities are on high alert ahead of the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro from August 5 to 21. They say more than 80,000 security personnel will police the Games — twice the number deployed at the last Olympics in London in 2012. The Islamic State group has claimed responsibility for deadly attacks on civilians in various countries. Authorities suspect many of its followers are radicalised and recruited online. "The opening of this new front in the spreading of information for extremist indoctrination, aimed at the Portuguese-speaking public, increases the complexity of the job of tackling terrorism," the intelligence agency said in its statement. "It represents an additional means of radicalizing Brazilian citizens." Brazil is already reeling from recession and a political crisis. President Dilma Rousseff has been suspended to face an impeachment trial. The Senate is set to vote on whether to impeach her in mid-August, during the Games. http://www.abc.net.au/news/2016-06-18/rio-olympics-brazil-detects-is-radical-posts-in-portuguese/7522512 giving up sodomy and moving to 🇦🇪 converting to ☪ and marrying four girls

Jenniferella 2,775
I didn't even know where and when the next Olympic Games would take place. I can only hope nothing tragic will happen there, the world is getting fragile from these random attacks. The problem with ISIS is that some attacks come from the core of this organisation and some don't, which makes them very difficult to anticipate. I'm not praying but I'm hoping "I have been writing LG5 since I was 13"

Various Olympic events such as sailing, wind-surfing, open water and triathlon-swimming are scheduled to be held at the beaches, where the super bacteria has been found, two unpublished studies have revealed, according to Reuters. ... giving up sodomy and moving to 🇦🇪 converting to ☪ and marrying four girls

politicqxs 358
http://sports.yahoo.com/news/jaguar-used-olympic-torch-event-killed-brazil-005145887--oly.html Brasília (AFP) - A jaguar trotted out for the Olympic torch's passage through Brazil's Amazon was killed shortly afterward when it escaped its handlers and threatened a vet, the Brazilian military said Tuesday. The feline -- whose species is the symbol of the Amazon -- was shot dead in the northern city of Manaus on Monday soon after it was photographed with the torch passing by. An attempt to use tranquilizer darts on it failed. "It escaped and ran off as it was being moved from one area to another in the zoo," said Colonel Luiz Gustavo Evelyn, whose unit is deployed in the region. He explained that, once located, the jaguar was hit by four tranquilizer darts. But they did not slow it down and it turned on a veterinarian, forcing the soldiers to use bullets. "To protect the handler, it was sacrificed," Evelyn said. The organizing committee of the Rio Games said it was "very unhappy" about the jaguar's killing. "We erred by allowing the Olympic torch, a symbol of peace and union among people, to be displayed next to a chained wild animal. That contradicts our beliefs and values," the committee said in a statement to AFP. "We are very unhappy with the outcome... We guarantee there won't be more situations like this in the 2016 Rio Games." The animal, a 17-year-old female named Juma, had been raised since it was a cub and was kept in the military-run zoo in the Amazon with half a dozen siblings. Just before its escape, it and another jaguar had been exhibited as the Olympic torch crossing Brazil passed through the zoo on its way to Rio de Janeiro, which is hosting the Games due to start August 5. "Unfortunately, this occurred the day of the torch's passage," Evelyn said. "The animal participated in the event because the torch went through the zoo." He added that Juma was not a wild animal, having been raised in captivity, and called its death "very sad." The military has opened an investigation into the incident. giving up sodomy and moving to 🇦🇪 converting to ☪ and marrying four girls
