The state of the world is not gr8 right now lol **** is scary The world was always like this tho The only difference is that we have social media to spread the news Anyone who knows their history can tell you that the world was never a utopia. In the 1800s you'd hear about bandits killing entire caravans weekly and how that'll leave a village starving, in the 1700s you'd hear about the death of the 40 year old nice king and how he has been replaced by a 22 year old tyrant with a taste for blood, wh0res and inquisitions who probably poisoned the last king, before that you'd have Pompeii happening one village over, or there'd be a crusade on their way to your doorstep, or the Spanish would show up on your shores and end up killing your entire kingdom in less than a year. These kind of things have been happening since humans realised we can hold bones and stones and use them as weapons. And even if we humans weren't around, another species would come along, gain sentience, and replace us anyway. Life ain't Hollywood for any one of us. Did you watch your local or national news before these events? Plus, with social media and technology it seems like more events like these are happening more often but they aren't. Statistically, violence has continued on a downward spiral every year. I agree that there are things we need to work on as a society that are bigger than guns (mental health care, education, welfare will all be more effective in minimizing violence and criminal acts) but those take time to put into place.
