DiscoHeaven23 35,007
Lately R&B and Hip-Hip has begun to make a come back for the first time in 10 years. Streaming seems to be helping that a lot. So this makes me think, does this trend mean that the female rapper will have a comeback as well? Of course we've had Nicki for the last 6 years, and we had Iggy for a hot second. But other then that female rappers have struggled to be heard in the last 10 years. Could we perhaps return to a time soon like when Missy, Lil Kim, Eve, Lauryn Hill, Foxy Brown, Lisa Left Eye Lopes and others were seen in the upper regions of the charts. Frankly I'm sick of it just being Nicki and i think some other women need to humble her. What are your thoughts? (Lil Kim, Lauryn Hill, Missy Elliott, Foxy Brown)

GloZell Green 11,723
Fine with Nicki, but I need Missy to make a huge comeback. Her music is amazing. Lady Gaga | Shakira
Didymus 34,379
I'd rather have Missy return and kick everyone's ass than have a new trend of subpar idiots who don't deserve the limelight tbh
Red 97,946
What I love is that if female rappers rise again, women will dominate every single music genre, lol If you see me posting like crazy, I'm either bored or procrastinating.

Brian Ryan 1,468
I actually loved Nicki's last album. I cannot stand her personality, which keeps me from being a fan. I love Iggy, but it seems she has given up. Team was on point. We will just have to see. I love female rappers more than male rappers. There's only one though now again... and that's Nicki and that blows because she infuses pop too much in my opinion in her rap as well. I never get tired of listening to old Lisa "Left Eye" LopeS, Lil' Kim, and Missy Elliot.
ItsTommyBitch 12,640
I actually really do love Nicki, and I hope she continues in the lane of what she did with The Pinkprint in terms of actually being an emcee and talking about things So much modern Rap and Hip-Hop it seems is the total opposite of substance tbh. Nicki CAN rap about things that matter AND serve I guess what we would call "bops", and she doesnt even have to make Pop-Rap tracks to do so, though I like them still She's the most talented actual rapper of the current young female rappers (sorry Pretty AB ) but she's let that get to her head; she used to be all about trying to make a space for female rappers to come out and be heard in, but now she seems threatened and is hostile to them She also has a TON of features that are again basically about very little (Which is what made that Lil Mama shade so apt ) There are quite a few new girls in the Rap world that are like, very indie and very good though. Im not sure if we are in a female rap era though, maybe when Nicki first hit the scene and blew everyone away there was potential, and then when Iggy came people were like "maybe now?" but then she flopped and here we are again We need more tbh. Also, Angel Haze PLEASE get more famous and stop putting out albums knowing they will fail and cost you money no matter how good they are! 私自身もこの世の中も誰もかれもが, どんなに華やかな人生でも, どんなに悲惨な人生でも, いつかは変貌し, 破壊され、消滅してしまう. すべてがもともとこの世に存在しない一瞬の幻想なのだから
Boyboi12 2,125
Well...foxy brown lost her hearing back in 2007 and since then, she has struggle with trying to be a recording artist. She has an implanted hearing aid, that causes delay in hearing. That makes it hard to be a recording artist; let alone a performer. I don't see her making a come back, but it would be lovely if she did
gagzus 15,785
i think it's because america's music taste is regressing; they're going back to the more urban sound of the 2000s they had and indie music/covers are rising too. And pop is going back to being generic sounding like it was in the 00s too. But tbf as much as I hate her; besides a few Grime female rappers. Nicki is the only actually good one rn
