You don't rob Diane just like that. Sam deserves the drag.

never got that love for TIHTY. Gaga and Diane both have much better songs.

Im sorry but I agree. Its just not a good song/lyrics no matter how great The messages & subject & purpose of it is . Sorry, don't like it at ALL. There were much better songs nominated (just thinging of The songs purely). Writing on The Wall is a much better composition though I would have said Manta Ray was The best song.

Bitterness is really sad an a bit much... get over it and move on by doing better songs. Makes it  sound like all she/they really were after was an award and The actual messages/campaign was mere acting... (Im not saying it was, just this makes it sound like it)

I mean, I would never say these kinds of things out-loud if I were a public figure.... but she's right. Smith's song was utter junk, and discernibly inferior to the rest. The fact it won is just another example of the Academy being extremely short-sighted and silly.

I agree.  It's an average song.  The subject matter of the song still can't hide the fact nor make up for the fact that it's a mediocre song as far as being Oscar-worthy.  The Academy didn't vote on her performance that night.  They voted on the recorded song, which is just repetitious.  But Gaga sold the song with emotion when recording.  The song deserved to win just as much as Sam's, which wasn't spectacular either, but it wasn't any better than Sam's.  And, let's face it, other songs nominated were just as good as those two songs.  They just didn't get the publicity.  There were no massive standouts nominated.

Neither TIHTY, nor WOTW deserved the Oscar :madge:

if TIHTY wasn't released by Gaga, I'm willing to bet y'all would've thrashed it :madge:

I don't like this society that shames people for saying what they think. I recognize that what she said isn't an acceptable thing to say because society thinks when you lose you should shut your mouth, but Jesus.

So what if she thinks she deserved to win. Y'all need to get over it.

Trashing TIHTY doesn't make you seem like a better person. Especially when none of the nominated songs were any better. Get over it.
