LGBT more targeted than any minority group in US

"Even before the shooting rampage at a gay nightclub in Orlando, Fla., lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people were already the most likely targets of hate crimes in America, according to an analysis of data collected by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

L.G.B.T. people are twice as likely to be targeted as African-Americans, and the rate of hate crimes against them has surpassed that of crimes against Jews.

Politicians have been divided on how to define the Orlando tragedy. President Obama called it both “an act of terror and and an act of hate.” But some Republican officials have refused to acknowledge that it could be considered a hate crime.

2005 1. Jewish 2. LGBT 3. Black 4. Muslim 5. Hispanic 6. Asian 7. White

2015 1. LGBT 2. Jewish 3. Muslim 4. Black 5. Asian 6. Hispanic 7. White"

:( Homophobia is reality.

Yeah in high rates actually. A lot of people are surprised by that because I guess media don't pays much attention to it maybe

It must be extreme and rare incidents, because it's definitely not shared by a large slice of the populace.

True, extreme, yes, rare, no considering that Jews are the most attacked after LGBT, as far as I know vandalising a synagogue is already hate crime. So basically sometimes it can someone do it double etc,

The FBI report?

Anyways, this is a fact yet you don't see gay people jumping up on stage at BLM meetings to discuss their agenda. Shameful.

The ranking is somewhat misleading. Yes, hate crimes motivated by homophobia are now comparatively more frequent than those triggered by antisemitism or islamophobia, for instance, but the overall number of hate crimes has decreased (including the ones against the LGBT community). There is no comparison between homophobia today and what it used to be. It's continuously becoming more and more rare. We are evidently not there yet, but still not a reason to get discouraged.
