You gotta laugh at people here basically reproducing the reaction the shooter had: we shouldn't be seeing this in public, it's disrespectful, it's vulgar.

I see two men carelessly showing their attraction towards one another, feeling safe to do it, feeling allowed to do it, feeling entitled to do it.

It's pretty much perfect. If it's uncomfortable for anyone, that only shows that Western culture still has a long way to go to get rid of the idea that same-sëx behavior should only be appropriate in certain places, at certain times, i.e. only when heteronormative ideology permits it to be displayed.

She's playing with intolerant people, as usual.

SensitiveDaily doing the most, as usual :)

The response to the pic sure has been interesting.... yes, some giggles as to it's **** origin but not sure why people have a problem otherwise

I would react the same if it was a pic of a man and a woman making out like that. :poot:

We'd feel the same with a straight couple pic though so, no.

I highly doubt that. It's not even a smart thing to say since an attack against the "straight community" is never gonna happen, so you'd never see a pic like that anyway :neyde:

Well, that's all good and well, but in the words of all the people bashing Gaga for the Hillary tweet: now is not the time to voice that opinion :gaycat:

I agree with you - Madonna means well.

But when you are saying, we are "reproducing the reaction the shooter had: we shouldn't be seeing this in public, it's disrespectful, it's vulgar." - We are NOT. The shooter's reaction was one rooted in hatred for homosexuals.

We're not bigoted like that, we're just a bit surprised about the close up of tongues.

No matter what it's rooted in, it's still a similar reaction.

The fact that this wouldn't be a big deal if it were a man and a woman (and I don't believe for a second that people would take offense, or at least not the same people posting here) shows that there is some level of bigotry (even if it's just internalized heteronormatitivity) present, and I just wanted to write something about that to make people think about their reaction, that's all.

She's being kinda rude, trashy, and a little extra with that picture IMO. But hey, she's speaking about it. Unlike other artists who only tweet to exploit the gay community. And I agree with her. Hate crimes need to stop.
