Mr. Trump, it's time you use your platform to tell Muslims that Islamic culture was remarkably tolerant of homosexuality and miles ahead of Western/Christian Europe until homophobia was imported in them via colonization. It's time you start asking Muslims to show the whole world the right example again instead of demonizing and discouraging them. Ironically, local Muslim groups are organizing small fundraising events and preaching that love will conquer hate. Of course I saw that on the local news, no major media outlet would ever let on that Muslims aren't the enemy

Also, the shooter's father said Omar wasn't radicalized. He was loosely in touch with his faith. He was just a bigot with a gun he shouldn't have had that went on a homophobic rampage. It's amazing how people can twist anything to fit their own ignorance and bigotry. Keep hating Obama 'cause he didn't lie and say it was "radical Islam" that pulled off this attack  keep spouting nonsense because we're trying to not validate people that a) don't deserve it and b) had nothing to do with this specific attack.

Idk about all that...smarter gun laws for sure though. Law abiding citizens shouldn't worry 'cause if they're actually law abiding, they'll still be able to own their guns. This guy owned a semi-automatic rifle, legally, despite the fact that he's been under FBI investigation for three years. How about we close that loophole?

Or the one that says we can ban people from flying on a plane but they can still legally buy a gun?

Or the one that allows gun dealers at gun shows to sell guns with little to no regulation whatsoever?

We've had nearly 400 mass shootings last year, this is the 174th this year. Clearly there's a damn issue here but people are too caught up hugging their death machines and blaming Muslims to see it.

So, if I understand the logic of some people here correctly, since the attacker was a US citizen who was born there, and whose family had immigrated there, then if people like these should be all banned from the US, shouldn't also all the other immigrants (literally 99% of the US) be banned from there? It seems like the only logical thing to do

So can we say the same about Russia? The way Putin is worshipped by many Russians, gays and immigrants are beaten and/or killed on the streets; do Russian people "give a ****"? Should Russians be banned from Western countries?
