Thank you... We're exposed to these images everyday. If gays can't act as free as this at our own events/spaces then what? I understand people making a point about overt displays of sexuality and nudity in public (even though I don't necessarily agree) but that's not a gay problem. It happens everywhere, thus it's certainly not acceptable to say that the actions/homophobia of this killer are understandable.

If you think that the gay community is the only one where conventionally attractive people are on pedestals and alcohol is mandatory for having fun you need to go out more often.

Pride is not all topless hunks, there are lesbians, trans people, feminine gays, travesties, drag queens, families... You choose to focus on the hunks who are not evil either. They aren't responsible for how you feel about yourself.

I think I specified at the amount of people who are doing that, not that everyone is doing that. What are you trying to teach me? 

I'm not making this goddamn situation about Islam or religion. This WAS a terrorist attack on our community. What other evidence do you fcking need? Its obvious the guy was a psycho who hated gays, but to try and sugar coat this as just another mass shooting is highly idiotic.

Edited: For the record, before people flame me, I do not believe terrorism is unique to one particular group of people. This could have very easily been an anti-gay atheist, a Christian, or hell even a disturbed gay man. We just don't know. What I do know is this was a coordinated attack against our community with the intent to inflict terror among us. That's where I arrive at my opinion, which I formed hours before we knew the history of the fiend.

i know it's not all topless hunks but whenever i ask someone if they're attending pride, the common answer is "yes i can't wait to get so drunk!!" and such and nobody really seems to attend in order to celebrate togetherness 

maybe i've just had mainly negative experiences within the gay community but i just can't fit in with the over-the-top sexuality and i find it the community to have a very strong "the hotter/bitchier/ruder you are, the better you'll do here" complex, stronger than the rest of the world

What the **** are you people trying to accomplish by saying this was NOT terrorism? The truth is this is under investigation BUT the details increasingly suggest this was an act of terror. 

Yes it is clearly a hate crime, but open your eyes. 

Also this guy was a SECURITY GUARD. He had a license, he had a background check! The gun control debate is ongoing but this guy seems like he went through the procedures. 

This is a deeper problem.

If only more Muslims knew homophobia was imported from Western Europe into their countries. I saw someone say earlier that the only way to reform Islam is by admitting it's a horrific and destructive ideology. I'd say it's a lot easier to reform it by admitting that the mix of Islam and modern Western state inventions is what's poisonous, not Islam itself.

Islamic countries have a fine record on tolerance towards not only minorities, but also widespread same-s*x behavior until Western colonization, as is a notorious fact among historians, anthropologists and sociologists. Don't forget that Western colonialists used Islamic countries' shocking tolerance towards homosexuality as a reason to invade and take over. Don't forget it was because of Western colonialism that Qur'anic law was codified for the first time, staggeringly multiplying the penalties (incl. death penalties for homosexuals) we now deem barbaric, penalties that were only rarely carried out in previous history.

It's my genuine hope that Muslims will remember that the atrocities linked to the name of their religion are outcomes of Western corruption, and not of a natural evolution of Islamic ideology or history.

The community is way more diverse. You may have just tried to fit in the wrong places.

I see nothing wrong with people wanting to party and get drunk and see hunks tho.
