You are making the assumption that it's the only reason they are voting for her.

Gaga mentioning that Hillary is a female president is a plus. It's one of the favorite things about Hillary or one description that she employed because she relates to her. It doesn't make it the only reason she's supporting her.

Stating this implies that if Hillary went out there and started eating babies, Gaga would still support her because she's a woman.

However someone saying we should vote for someone ONLY because they are a woman is sexist you are right, but the only people who say that are ultra feminist fools.

If Bernie had won, that was the first time a socialist AND a Jewish person would have been the presumptive nominee. Those are milestones too, that prove that the USA is becoming more inclusive and accepting of other creeds and ideologies.

Voting for someone because of their gender, even if it's not the only reason, is sexist feminist bullsh*t. We don't need affirmative action for the White House. Sorry, but I want PC affirmative action OUT of the equation as to who leads this country all together.

Yeah, I just edited my post to show more appreciation for the milestone. The whole race this election season has been so messy, I think it is overshadowing the fact that this is really a big deal.

It was such a massive deal when Obama was the first black man nominated/elected, it really is surprising that there isn't much awe or appreciation. Maybe that just speaks towards the attitude towards women in leadership in this country.

You're missing the point. People who place the fact that she's a woman highly in their priorities don't do it just because she's a woman. It's for many other reasons.

For one it stands for something. As noted, this is an important milestone that justifies all the hard work that has been done in the field of women's rights.

Speaking of, there is the expectation that a woman will have an understanding of women's rights that a man can not have and that is true, in addition to the expectation that it will be a focus of their presidency. There are certain viewpoints that only a woman can have, and as someone who has fought for women's rights for most of her career, Hillary is more than qualified for this.
