[LG5] Mark Ronson: the right direction?

Not The Real Gaga

Hello Monsters,

almost everybody on this forum seems confident with the fact that Mark Ronson is the main producer of LG5. Curiously, a lot of you guys doesn't seem to like RedOne anymore. I don't know why that is, while he produced the most of Gaga's biggest hits, like 'Judas' en 'Just Dance'. Hits, we all love.

She hasn't to reinvent the wheel, but I agree we need a new sound. But she can still create new, original material with her former producers, like RedOne. We've seen what happened with ARTPOP (which I still really like, but it wasn't a huge success).

Unfortunately, according to the replies of RedOne, he isn't clearly involved in the LG5-process, which I think is very sad.

So, why especially Mark Ronson? I mean, Ronson hasn't produced many hits. Actually, maybe two. 'Uptown Funk', for example, was not my cup of thea (I hate it), but that's just personal. Can he deliver quality?

I hope Gaga will collaborate with just more producers and not mainly Mark Ronson. Of course, I will still love and respect her work, and I award her huge success. I wish her the best of the world, but I doubt whether her plans will work out well or not.

I think the risks are too high, we can't hendle another backlash.

What do you think, guys? :D

Have a nice day! :)

Well, RedOne hadn't produced any hits before Gaga worked with him. People need to stop discounting her role as a hitmaker because she's obviously damn good at it and has had hits without him.

Secondly, it's not all about getting hits. It's about making great music which Mark has proved himself to be more than capable of. He has worked with a range of artists in many different genres and has been acclaimed over and over for his abilities.

Trust Gaga more.

As long as Ronson is not producing boring tracks I'm fine

We'll can judge after the album is out. I just hope he won't be the only one to produce on it.

I'm excited but I'm also bored. He's like such an unbearably obvious and boring choice for a producer in 2016. Doesn't mean I'm convinced the music will be boring too, but it just bothers me that she prefers someone like that over someone she can really introduce instead of her just following trends.

I miss the times where it would seem like Gaga was just working with a group of friends. Now it's Tony, Elton, Diane, Nile, Mark,... I don't like how much of a celeb fest her career is becoming. I want my underground girl catapulted into pop back.

So at least we have Impala involved somewhere, I guess, though even that is the most predictable "alternative" choice you could make :rip:

I dunno, I just really hope this album will be creative in an offensive way (doesn't mean schizo or whatever, but just stimulating) again. And this line-up makes me think that's not gonna happen, which makes the wait a bit frustrating.

So producing hits make someone a quality producer according to you?

The songs topping the charts are most of the time trendy trash.

Ronson will deliver a quality album with a timeless sound

I don't get what that means. Do you mean that people here had discussions about wanting her to work with "legendary professionals" or whatever?

something like that, don't remember exactly how they worded it, but it was an issue with the fans that Gaga was letting her friends working for/with her on ARTPOP and w/e

Ronson was the producer of 'back to black' so yeah if he delivers, I want THAT kind of quality.

I trust her. But I think the most people fell in love with Gaga, because of the hits. Of course, it is not all about the hits, but ARTPOP hadn't any real hits, unfortunately (comparing to other artists). The fan base decreased, so a new success is welcome. Why take that risk? Why not spreading the chances and using former, trusted producers who have proved themselfes by delivering good quality songs ánd the hits? They are creative enough. And yes, music and not the bling, but without the bling, there will be no more music. It still is a business...

Maybe that wasnt his/her opinion at first. Don't generalize everybody in GGD. Trust me :toofunny:. But in general everybody won't be pleased bc some people on here don't like her to change even though that's what she does. She transforms.
