Honestly, the fact that someone like Katy (no offense to her fans) can get so many nominations, yet someone like Demi can't, is just quite honestly tragic. Artists submit their songs/albums in each category and then Grammy voters select the top 5 who are to be nominated, and that doesn't happen until the fall. Plus, despite Grammy Awards supposedly "ignoring commercial success", look at the nominations for the general and pop categories each year. They're all successful songs that have charted high on Billboard. Stone Cold didn't even reach the Hot 100, so it's highly unlikely to be nominated, despite it being a better vocal performance than most nominees.
