If she has an alternative rock song on the album, the rest of the album has to have a similar style, or else it won't be cohesive. This means that even the whole style of Gaga's performance will have to change. It's like jazz. It's so different from how Gaga does things. That's why she doesn't put it in her solo albums. Btw Gaga has done other songs that are influenced by other types of rock before (Electric Chapel, You & I) and I'm totally fine with that. Gaga cites Bowie has her biggest influence. He constantly changed musical genres and performance styles. Madonna is another huge influence. Compare Like A Virgin with Ray Of Light and Rebel Heart. Two years ago Jazz wouldn't have suited Gaga's 'Gaga's performance art'. You say it's somehow separate because it's with legendary Jazz crooner Mr. Tony Bennett but it's still part of her discography... Gaga has the ability to evolve. Seeing her do alt. rock would be a very interesting change indeed and something she could pull of very well. She is working with Ronson and you made a point to post songs he has produced as an example of what shouldn't be on LG5 so it looks like she has a very different idea of what her style is. "When people think that they know who Lady Gaga is, I'd like to remind them that they don't" - Lady Gaga

It isn't about being outstanding. It isn't about crazy fashion. It isn't about 'slaying', or none of what I love about Gaga. It's gritty. it's straightforward. It's purely just about the music. And Gaga can be so much more than that.

I hate to say that you have a pretty poor idea about rock music if you think that it's potential is just her "play[ing] a guitar with a band on stage in her music videos and performances". There is nothing to say her fashion can't be outrageous, her performances can't be exciting and different or her music videos can't be epic and controversial. Some of the most interesting, boundary pushing, unique, bizarre and entertaining acts of all time are rock musicians.

I mean, alternative rock musicians generally play with the same arsonal as other rock musicians anyway so I don't think it's unfair to group them together either. (in the same way I don't think it would be unfair to group rnb pop singers with electropop singers)

DemeLarell 931
Am Ibthe only one that doesn't care what genre influnces Gaga. Maybe its because I love and appreciate all genres of music so there is no way i can be disappointed by the genre she chooses. And i wouldn't say Amy is a jazz singer BUT she uses a lot of jazz techniques and it sounds like her vocals are influenced by jazz..... 😒

Well that that depends on what you classify as alt. rock there are also some punk bands I know that I can't share because they are NSFW (Like RockBitch). Even beyond the genre there are performance styles that can fit with an alt. rock sound whether that be Sia: or Kanye: There is a ton of performance styles that are exciting, boundary pushing and interesting that don't include pop-style choreography... Gaga could even perform like this with alternative rock music

Sure, but that's their opinion Most of the reasons I heard for why people didn't like the performance is because they expected more from Intel. I guess I need to see it coming from herself, not just the special effects. Her presence needs to be the most outstanding thing of the performance. Well I think Gaga has already shown through multiple performances (that can be suited to Alt. Rock) that her presence can be the most outstanding thing of the performance... See: Paparazzi TF Ball, Telephone BRITS, If I Ever Lose My Faith Kennedy Center Honors, The Sun Is Down with Yoko Ono. I mean ****, I'd rather watch this then any Katy Perry performance
Teri Hatcher 2,053
I hope this is what LG5 is like By the time you reach the end of this sentence, it'll be too late to realize I just wasted your time with a pointless sig.
Killa 17,478
How is rock UnGaGa? It would be awesome if she did a song like Malibu, with very straight forward production, no guitar solo, with something catchy about it. It wouldn't kill the romance at all. Haven't you listened to Future love, Fever, Fooled Again, and so on.. It's fine if you don't like it but it's clearly part of what she is and what's she has presented us, it's not she pulling somehting out of the blue. And not wanting for her to play a bit with jazz inffluences is just so sad. You probably won't even notice, why are you saying somehting like that..? There are beautiful chords in jazz, there are people that know how to use this complex things without us even noticing and even key changes or weird tempi. Or it would it even be funny she having a fantastic pop song and take it on a jazzy route and give a bit of scatting. I don't understand why you wouldn't want that. And i believe many of you think you don't want it, but when you see it, you'll like. Be open mind please, don't kill the artist. This makes me very sad
