Do people lack the ability to judge music without regarding the promotion campaign of the album? Btw Applause and G.U.Y. are her best videos, you need to repent some more. Some performances were mediocre but ARTPOP at the Tonight Show, DWUW on Alan Carr and at the AMAS, Dope on Alan Carr, Applause at the VMAs, iTunes festival, Jingle Bell Ball, Roseland, these are pretty amazing imo. nativenewyorker 1,190 Posted June 6, 2016 Share Posted June 6, 2016 I fell in love with the music right when the album was released, so the messiness of the rest of the era just disappointed me. The songs are phenomenal pop tunes, it's just the execution of her ideas (or lack of) felt so wrong. Dope and Gypsy are trash (those are the real stinkers on that album, even JND is better) and it's a bit unfocused but overall it's a fun album. Some of the thread is obviously a joke but when I heard the first leak I cancelled all of my pre-orders because I couldn't stand the way it was sounding. GOING FRWARD, the lack effort (not Gaga's fault) in the era left me not wanting to make an effort to let it grow on me. I left it alone and picked it up last night and enjoyed it.
