eifulien 2,967
@ReidOne @Helxig I heard you needed more Diplomats in your crew. So here I am, INFJ Tbh, I tottally relate to her monologue in MTN It's just how the brain works. Yesterday, I called her a living contradiction, but I don't really judge her, I appreciate her, cause she is messy, she is human that way to me. I am also a contradiction myself, and it's not sth I even realise on my own. My best friend is an INTJ, so worry not 'bout me, everything I say is put under great analysis, and the "errors" are always put in my face. (Which is not annoying actually, all of us NFs need an NT to hold us back a bit, cause we tend to have our heads in the clouds too much). I also have been told by friends that when I tell stories of sth that happened to me or whatever, I tell them in an exciting way, usually more interesting than reality. E.g. I was talking about a series or a film and that friend later watched it and she was somewhat disappointed cause she said it was more interesting hearing about it from me. So I guess I have a tendency to reach some depths that aren't common for other people and tend to present them in a fascinating way. And it's not even on purpose. Probably the reason I enjoy so much ARTPOP as well. It just gives me so much ground to delve and dig deep. #ARTPOPists4Life

And sometimes I have the same problem where I hype things too much and make them sound better than they are! So I think I've developed a skill for under-hyping things that I want people to try. #ARTPOPists4Life I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin. Case in point: she tells Jamie Lee Curtis in the "Actors on Actors" clip that she never sought fame. And yet you flashback a couple of years and she's saying things like "everybody wants to be famous but nobody wants to play the game. [...] I will kill to get what I need." Heck, she named her debut album The Fame. She also told us that she got MDNA's blessing for Born This Way: ("I got an e-mail from her people and her, sending me their love and complete support on behalf of the single and if the queen says it shall be, then it shall be,” Gaga said) I also remember a thread on this website last year complaining that she lied about the age she started playing piano So I wonder: Does Gaga have a tendency to edit her past? i.e. she convinces herself that something did or did not happen when the opposite is true, and so when she tells us about it she doesn't believe she's lying. The "Marry The Night" video opening monologue gives us plenty of evidence: “When I look back on my life, it’s not that I don’t want to see things exactly as they happen, it’s just that I prefer to remember them in an artistic way. And truthfully, the lie of it all is much more honest, because I invented it. Clinical psychology arguably tells us that trauma is the ultimate killer. Memories are not recycled like atoms and particles in quantum physics. They can be lost forever. It sort of like my past is an unfinished painting and, as the artist of that painting, I must fill in all the ugly holes and make it beautiful again. It's not that I’ve been dishonest, it’s just that I loathe reality.” Enlighten me hunties Well like they say.. teo 609
Sometimes she's just playing a character or she's just being ironic and sarcastic. Sometimes there's a context in what she means that you can't get if you just pick a line. Also what she says in music videos, tour videos, ect. is not always to be taken literally. Like for example the MTN video even thought it is inspired by real events and experiences in her past doesn't claim to be an official autobiography. Also people change their opinions on certain matters when they grow up. Gaga is one of the most honest and open celebrities out there and imo that's one of the reasons that people always want to call her out and prove she's a liar... Pablo 7,799
Look I know you're trying to get a controversial thread but she really didn't say that. She meant that she was always going to become a musician and she didn't do it to become famous. Don't visit my profile
Oriane 21,101
It's not that she lies but I understand when she says these things. There were a few times recently where she said that with The Fame, she wasn't really seeking fame. This could sound contradictory given what she said at the time, that she wanted to be famous and all, but I understand what she means. Even back then she didn't want everything from fame, she knew it had its good and bad sides, so in a way yes she wanted to be famous and live a glamourous life because it had been her goal for a while, but on the other side she knew all the bad things it brought, and she discovered even more things when she actually got famous. I think she wanted to be famous but if it hadn't happened, she wouldn't have minded. Now when she says that she wasn't seeking fame at the beginning, I understand it in the way that she wasn't seeking the kind of fame she experienced. For her it was just about being known, being glamour, being talked about everywhere, these kind of crazy things we all dream of at some point. With time she learnt a lot of things. She quickly released The Fame Monster so she already knew about the dark things of fame. She learnt that with fame she gained influence and used it with Born this Way. But with ARTPOP and all the managing issues, she realized she couldn't take in anymore. So I think what she's saying now is that she didn't seek all these things, yes she wanted "fame" but she digged deeper with time. REALITY 76,672
Interesting thread, but I don't think that she's trying to purposefully "edit her past". I believe that because she's been famous for almost a decade now, she's been able to see both sides of fame. Personally, I don't really like using quotes and philosophies brought about her early days in her career just because she was so new to the music scene. She had an idea of who she was, but I don't think she fully expressed herself and found herself until the later years of her career. As previous accounts have already mentioned, she's gone through so much and it's just natural for people to change their philosophies and ideologies after such traumatic experiences. If anything, I think that we're seeing a much more honest and genuine Gaga than we have ever before. Her ability to speak so freely and intelligently about the subject of fame and her struggles with it as well as changing her mind is impressive in it of itself. There is also extensive speculation that Lady Gaga is either an ENFJ or an INFJ. Regardless, both of the two personality types are extremely similar, more so than most other types when compared to each other. And one of the hallmark qualities of an ENFJ is storytelling. And the ability to identify the elements of a story that will resonate with the listener and help translate the message of the speaker successfully to the listener. And that often means that they bend or mold the actual details of the true experience to better fit the story line, so that the listener clearly and easily understands the overarching message. It's not lying. Because there is not an intent to mislead. But there is an element of editing the truth. But it's all in an effort to more succinctly communicate. I'm ENTJ So close to Gaga's type - Previously Sycothisis
