Another LG5 Thread (My Hopefully Insightful Perspective)

So lately the meltdowns are reaching their peak, were starting to see burned stan cards. Gaga is as confusing as ever and while some fans exaggerate their dismay, others have remained hopeful and positive. There's really no one to blame for the fan base being shakey these days. It is understandable that an artist may have their own artistic standards and that for the music to be genuine those standards have to be favoured over the fan's rightful impatience at this point.

Do I think there was an original LG5 gameplan that was scrapped, I most certainly do, I remember in 2015 Gaga said something along, if the world wants the next Bad Romance or Poker Face, I have to be in a good place just like the first two albums. Hence why there was that period of time where she was more involved with REDONE, further proof was a Lead Single was chosen and I feel was planned to be released after her Oscars performance which would mark the end of TIHTY era.

I feel after the death of bowie, Gaga rethought her vision. Let's be honest, Gaga clearly does not have the same passion anymore for Pop music. With C2C , I haven't seen Gaga that joyous since TFM Era. Gaga came with the notion that Pop will never be low brow and succeeded in bringing pop back to the mainstream light. However, I feel Gaga was satisfied with her commercial impact after TFM, that the desire to create these huge pop songs just dissipated. She went from having musical objectives to moral objectives, from wanting her music to have an impact through sound and imagery hence the whole Fame thing to wanting to have an impact through morals and establishing change. This can clearly be seen with Born This Way, if we inspect BTW very closely we will be able to find many flaws In its production and musical structuring. Music wise Born This Way relies heavily on the preaching aspect of it, to create a sense of emersion for the listener. You had to be one with the lyrics and you had to join the movement, there was no huge club track ala Poker Face where all the listener had to do was listen and dance. Born This Way required involvement and appreciation behind its message. I understand why Gaga needed to make that album, no matter how pretentious it came off. ARTPOP though, as much as I love it, to me is honestly just another Pop album that attempted to buy itself an avant-garde edge, In order to establish itself as a superiorly artistic and impressive pop album when compared to the other more basic ones and I feel that's where Gaga got her ass bit. Let's be real Applause is just as much of a pop dance track as Just Dance and this applies to most of the songs on ARTPOP. They hide behind this artistic exterior that no one seems to highlight but Gaga, when more time could have been spent in favor of a more controlled (in terms of quality) Pop album ala TFM.

Then again no one is perfect, Gaga is human at the end of the day, her albums are not guaranteed to always be great, a few bad steps here and there is fine. What's sad is we all know Gaga is capable of anything musically, we all know it, If she doesn't admit it then she doesn't see it. Let's just break it down, if Gaga does not deliver with LG5, then that will mark the downhill of her commercial career and that will affect no one but her. She will surely lose some commercial privileges, her platform will lessen, her extend will decrease, she will join the likes of Lana, Marina, Grimes or heck be relevant in the acting industry rather than keep her lane with the likes of Beyonce and Katy. Many artists can come and establish a greater imprint on the world from where she left and at the same gain huge commercial success. We would be naive to call Gaga the only true artist of our generation and even calling her the best can be somewhat Ignorant. Yes Gaga is not obliged to make music for the fans or pop music even but she owes it to herself to make a great album not only a good one. Why a great one ? Cause the best of artist always put out great albums, they are committed to put their very best and for the next album to always be better than the previous one. Gaga had this drive for a long time, she says that she's her only competition and she'd love to top herself. I admire that, I certainly would rather not make more albums if they won't be on par or better than my previous. I just hope this instinct is burning for LG5. So I guess we'll see, all that matters is it should be GREAT. What time it's out, who's producing, what genre is it, now all of that is utter fan service.

Conclusion: If LG5 is bad then we jump ships, no need to unstan or jump ships when it's not even out yet.

Luna Lovegood

I mean I'm kinda feeling abit pressed that she's not taking her pop career or LG5 seriously and she even states that she never even wants to be famous but we just have to stay positive. That's all I can say for now...

Well, I agree that LG5 needs to deliver. And it sucks maybe that the album is already with big expectations and anticipation. But she has been doing and saying things since 2014 that need their evidence in her pop career. Tbh she barely has songs that do justice to her vocal talent and everything she's "been about" for the past 2 years and a half. Yes, the tributes, the jazz covers, they are all a great showcase, but when it comes to her own material we have few songs like Dope, Gypsy, TEOG, Y&I. But then there's MJH, Donatella and company.

So LG5 needs to fix that. And I believe this is exactly what Gaga is doing with Ronson. She finally seems to have the fire and desire to top herself again in the pop landscape.

Marina Braxton

Just do a killer lead single then at least if the album flops we'll have bad romance 2.0

Finally someone tells the truth, I'm so sick of all those 'real fans' who defend her blindly. It's all in her hands now and yea this is awkward situation for sure, since after everything she has said, the relationship she created with us, the money we paid for her, she is about to abandon the pop adventure. It's a pity and I guess she will regret that one day, but if getting away from fame is what makes her feel peaceful now then so be it.

I mostly agree, but I don't intend to jump ship whatever the commercial success of LG5. Whenever she makes good music, I'm here for her.

Yes , I meant the music solely exclusive of the commercial success and it is a fair statement I believe

no point stanning for an album you don't enjoy

I'm saying as long as we love the album that's all that matters
