Money is not the most important thing in the world though for happiness. Psychology tells us that relationships are, the very thing that fame threatens the most.

I think each individual has their own definition of happiness...many use the illusion that money is the only way to achieve said happiness tho.

She's basically saying that if you put people on a pedestal it makes it impossible to relate to someone on a real level, which I agree with. In that situation said person can never live up their fantasies. It's setting up the person for failure.

I think Gaga is alluding to some sort of Emotion Revolution/pay it forward stuff, but I kind of agree with Jamie Lee as I don't see any change happening when it comes to people seeing celebs as real people instead of royalty or religious-like figures - both sides seem to enjoy playing into these roles too much for this to change in a huge way.

I have to admit it's exactly those contradictions that i'm sorta in love with :flutter:
I think being human means to celebrate your own paradoxes.

Gaga talks as if she didn't bring any of her famous circumstance onto herself.

I remember when she said that people freaking out at the sight of a stars fingernail is how it should be. Does she think she can block every time she went on about how badly she wanted to be a star out of our memories? She choose to project an inhuman super goddess image herself. No one forced her to do that.

The shallow people taking selfies also paid for your Hollywood mansion. If she truly doesn't like being famous she can retire to a wood cabin any day where she can make music for the deer and bunnies like a real ass disney princess.

pretentious, straight up lying and twisting the truth so it fits her current life circumstances. you wanted the fame, gaga, you wanted people to view you as a goddess. such a despicable move to now neglect that point of view just because you got what you wanted.

I honestly admire her for being able to openly contradict a lot of what she started off saying. She had an idea of what fame was, and what it was to be famous, and she was wrong. She cannot possibly be the same person that she was in 2009-2011, because that person literally broke her.

I would challenge anyone to find a happier, more at peace version of Lady Gaga than the one we have right now. She has grown up, she has matured, and we would probably all be wise to do that with her.

So what if LG5 is less pop-oriented? If this woman strives to only make something she can see as authentic, and pop music right now isn't or wouldn't be authentic to her, would you want her to sell out just for a hit here and there? Adele is a constant reminder that "pop" music won't always sell the most, and that there is no one correct way to sell albums. Lady Gaga should continue to do what she has always done, which is create something like no one else can, in a way that is completely her own.

It surprises me more and more all the time how much I respect and admire a person I'll probably never get to actually have a conversation with

The best post I've seen today :applause:

Gaga wanted to talk about acting, but JLC asked her about "Lady Gaga", thats what she was annoyed about. I knew things were going to go south when I saw the first question was "Is Lady Gaga a character?"  She hates that question, she's answered it a million times.

People change as they mature and grow up. I don't understand how people don't get that. People in their early 20's usually want to be recognized individually and celebrated by the masses but when people hit their 30's they start to become more team oriented, think about others, and become selfless.

I see it as maturing rather than being pretentious.

Something this fan base needs to learn :wtf:

Plus she is seeing the downside to everyday life when she has to consult with 'security' just to go get a burger with her friends.

Exactly! Plus I've heard multiple celebrities say that fame ruined their lives and I'm pretty sure they all WANTED to be famous too.

My dad always told me to never feel bad about changing my mind about how I feel about things. He said that you should never have to keep yourself tied down to what you said a year/5 years/10 years ago.

What Gaga said about fame when she was 20 is obviously going to change when she is 30.
