My issue isn't what they say about her but really its why? It's not like shes doing anything or especially on peoples minds right now what benefit do they have to call her names and insult her.

How edgy and badass of them, I bet their fans feel proud and cool now

I am. Tbhwy that's the whole definition of and why they're doing it, is their very own genre, Zef. Or that they really felt insulted when Gaga asked them to open for her for ARTPOP :toofunny:

They took offense because they felt like Gaga was using alternative support acts to pretend that she was more than a generic pop star, to make her look better. They mocked the idea that Gaga chose them because she liked their act, saying it was purely driven by selfish reasons.

When Gaga then replied with "u dont have a hit" they laughed at her even more saying that only proved their point: she's not in it for the music, she's just in it for money and she'll use artists who actually do care more about artistic quality (as a leech, if you will, I'm sure that's what they're getting at here) to pretend she's on their level.

It's quite an interesting argument. But I wish they'd be more clear about it, because they do just look like random haters now, when in reality, I'm sure a lot of people would agree with them or at least agree that they have a valid point if they'd explain it like I did above.

Gaga is more than a generic pop star, though

That's something I would expect out of an eight year old... Not a "professional musician." They need to move on.

If you see this as bullying then consult your optometrist. Bulling is a power play.  Die Antwoord can't possibly bully Lady Gaga, because she has more power, respect, money, and influence then they will ever have.

They are criticizing her and making nasty remarks. That isn't bullying.

"Criticizing her and making nasty remarks" lol that's literally bullying.  Someone with power, success, and wealth can still be bullied no one is immune to it.

Their "fans" are so delusional.  Let's not hate, they deserve our prayers.

I hate it when they talk down Gaga, since I happen adore their music.

Surely it is partly the interviewer's fault for mentioning Gaga at all?

I seriously have no clue where their hate is coming from. They're literally just coming across as huge morons for no apparent reason. I mean, you have the right to like someone's work or not, but why the need to be so violent? Because whether they like it or not, by saying stuff like this, they're basically alienating a massive part of their own fanbase. I can't help but feeling like there's a huge part of homophobia under this - they haven't just been verbally violent towards Gaga, but also towards her fans. Let's not forget that according to Die Antwoord, we're just basically a prawn colony. So hard to be a fan of someone who's showing so much hate towards you and your people. It's negative, uncalled for, incomprehensible and plain stupid.
