VANTABLACK 7,793
http://ladygaga.wikia.com/wiki/NME_(magazine) so I just came across this NME interview Gaga did in 2011 for BTW, I remember seeing this, but I totally never read it. Some of the things I read Im finding so shocking, and cant believe she would say these things, she used to be so cocky, she was a Bitch! some soundbites: NME:A bit of it does sound quite a lot like ‘Express Yourself’, though, doesn’t it?" Gaga:“I don’t think so… I swear to you. I am not stupid enough to put out a record and be that moronic.” NME:The reference seemed so obvious that it had to be intentional because, as you say, you’re not stupid…“ Gaga: No. Listen to me. Why the ****…? I’m a songwriter. I’ve written loads of music. Why would I try to put out a song and think I’m getting one over on everybody? That’s retarded. Spoiler What a completely ridiculous thing to even question me about. I will look you in your eyes and tell you that I am not dumb enough or moronic enough to think that you are dumb enough or moronic enough not to see that I would have stolen a melody. If you put the songs next to each other, side by side, the only similarities are the chord progressions. It’s the same one that’s been in disco music for the last 50 years. Just because I’m the first ****ing artist in 25 years to think of putting it on Top 40 radio, it doesn’t mean I’m a plagiarist, it means that I’m ****ing smart. Sorry.” NME:Food has arrived; she picks at a plate of carb-free shirataki noodles with cauliflower sauce and mushrooms. She's ordered NME a plate too. It is, frankly, not very nice." and the most startling thing I came across in this interview: "If she's so committed to her art, NME asks, why aren't she's sporting for the 'Born This Way' campaign real implants? "I did look into having them done permanently." she admits, "but decided against it." She laughs. "Mostly because of my boyfriend, if you want to know the truth." Sister 9,907
One of her most notorious amongst her fanbase, at least. The future's uncertain and the end is always near.
notamember 667
First time I read this interview was like...two days ago and it made me cry because it really sounded like they were trying to criticize her and it made me very upset. I think it is pretty outrageous, but I think the interviewer kind of asked for it to be by asking those sorts of questions.

Robo Ga 15,297
NME is no friend of Gaga's. She better steer clear of them in the next era 🤖⚡️
Harry 26,836
Yes this interview was pretty big at the time. The 'retarded' thing especially got a lot of criticism and I think she apologised? I actually have a copy of this magazine somewhere.

Nnnnnnnnnnnnnnn 41
BTW I don't see what is outrageous about this other than people wanting to shame Gaga for doing her work, sure it was probably expected but I personally praise her for her boldness instead of being a bitch... Some people think that legends stopped existing but they didn't and Gaga is proof so back off haturz!
crisTEAne 21,059
the interviewer was a jerk, he was basically asking for it. at one point, if my memory serves well, he even mentions that he would rather not delve into something that questions her integrity again because that would make her cry again. the whole thing begins by focusing on superficiality and phoniness, continues by questioning her integrity all the time, and ends by concluding, in a rather condescending manner, that gagz is real. no ****, sherlock. 2 hours ago, notamember said: First time I read this interview was like...two days ago and it made me cry because it really sounded like they were trying to criticize her and it made me very upset. AlexanderLevi2 5,849
The question about the Express Yourself/BTW was dumb and patronizing. The interviewer was treating her like a child. Currently listening to Joanne
