I like Katy's music more and think she has the better voice, but I think Taylor is the better artist; if that makes sense.

Both highly overrated though.

I dislike them both, but I guess for me, the lesser of two evils is Katy. I enjoy her shows to be honest, because there's actually a great production value. Yes Katy struggles to sing (Taylor even more), but her live performances have interesting stages, props, and costumes. She comes off try-hard a lot of times, if not every time, though 

But hands down, it's no competition, Taylor's the better songwriter and probably has more artistry.

I agree before 1989 I would have said Katy , just cause I felt Taylor didn't advance much outside the country guitar tunes we kept hearing.

After 1989 I was able to see that Taylor is capable of doing what Katy does , if not better. The fact that she writes all her songs with a small input from co-writers (usually the producers suggesting a word or two tbh) and the fact that in her third album she was the only credited writer. Taylor also sounds better live than Katy. I still love Katy and depend on her to deliver with those huge commercial pop hits I enjoy.
