they were successful because adele and beyonce are arguably the two biggest musicians on the planet right now lmao

nobodys checking for gaga anymore she cant just drop something like that

Give Gaga some credit. Gaga is herself one of the greatest musicians on the planet. I dare say she is more complete that both of those. Because she is a great vocalist, songwriter and entertainer. Plus, people ARE dying for new Lady Gaga music, as long as it's fun and original like The Fame and The Fame Monster were. People have been tired of her, but they are once again ready.

I agree. I think that a 25-ish (obviously less dramatic in terms of sales) era is perfectly possible for Gaga. She just needs that first single to be an absolute victory, like Hello was. That in itself is enough buzz, the media can't get enough of her even now when she hasn't released solo stuff in years. I don't think that will be a problem indeed.

And look at Lemonade. Didn't even need a successful single. Just a forceful reminder that she was still there (Superbowl) and that was enough, because the quality of the album caused a tremendous amount of word-of-mouth marketing via (social) media. Gaga's definitely capable of pulling off a similar effect.

Now that I think of it, it's really not that hard to get a hit, esp. from Gaga..

Make a great song. Make a good MV. Pay Radio. Perform everywhere. Et voilà.

Of course she could do that, the public don't look out for ANY artist to drop an album really, interest is generated through the media and radioplay. If Gaga dropped an album right this second the media would blow up, radioplay will happen, and interest would be generated.

LG5 has made the list for every 'most anticipated albums' list

I think that if she single is fire and the video is on par with her best past efforts, it will absolutely slay. I don't care about charts but she could and should absolutely have a #1 single and an album debut at #1. But the song and video has to have some irresistible hooks and a great look/concept! My fear is they are still chasing BR, and the law of diminishing returns took us from Bad Romance to Judas to Applause...

Should I remind you that Work went to number one?

Did that song have:

Buzz? No.

A good video? No.

Amazing songwriting and melody? No.

A perfect pre-era? Hell ****ing no.

Gaga not slaying or be talked about when she releases is just unimaginable :saladga:

Inside, we are really made the same. 🕊

I agree with others. As long as the music is good, the hype train will create itself. She's surely not in the place she was 4/5 years ago, but she's still very much a star. She doesn't need to jam herself down the public's throat in order to sell an album. The final product just has to be good and relatively accessible; she should also be wise with her choice of singles.
