Imprisoning animals is not fun. If you do, the least you can do is train them in social behavior. If they would have done that, the gorilla would be used to the presence of a human and wouldn't have dragged the child. At least he didn't beat him or something.

Within seconds it could have strangled the child or something. While watching animals die is not fun, watching people (children at that) is even less so.

Gorillas are not domestic animals. They are wild animals. And wild animals belong in the damn WILD!

I always thought zoos were for protecting the animals.  Hmmm.  No way should a person of any age been able to squeeze in through any enclosure and the mother definitely should have been watching and keeping track of her kid.  I think it is negligence on the zoo's part and the parent's part. 

The child, at 4, didn't understand the dangers and I get they wanted to keep him safe from a wild, unpredictable animal.  It's not the kid's fault - and it's not the gorilla's fault.  But the animal is dead and the kid was hurt and probably traumatized.  This is why I like kids/ animals better than adults.

Sucks the animal heads to die, but we truly have more important issues in this country at the moment. A gorilla being shot is not one of them. This is why our country is on the brink of disaster, we get too worked up over the wrong issues and don't get worked up enough over the ones that matter.

There were precautions to prevent the public from getting into the capacity, and yet this still happens?

So pissed at the situation. This could have easily been avoided but no, we had to kill to save the little boy. It's not the zoo's fault, and it's not the gorilla's fault. I blame the kid and mother.

Yes. It would be great if both made it. But it is a cruel world and it is what happens when Gaga refuses to release her new material, everyone goes apeshit crazy and throws their children in gorilla dens, so we should be blaming her.

that's the right thing to do, we are out of options here. next step: the safety barriers should be removed, so that children could be sacrificed more easily. don't you agree?
