I always find it very surprising how people are more appalled by an animal getting shot to save a child (which I agree is very sad, but I can't really think of any other way, they could have ensured that child's safety), than the way animals are tortured to turn them into food and clothes. I guess it's sadder, because they actually got to see the gorilla when it was alive. Maybe if they were to make a fur coat out of it, 90% of the people wouldn't complain That being said, terrible parenting. Tranquilizers don't work instantly.
