While Johnny's been known to be a bit rude in real life, I never expected him to do something like this. I thought his pairing with Amber was really strange and such a turn-around from Vanessa. And so often, when older men get with younger girls, stories like this come out. You always wonder, why does he want someone so much younger? Because they're easier to use, to manipulate, they put up with stuff that a more experienced woman their age wouldn't. I feel sickened that some people are not believing her and saying she set this up. You never have any idea what's going on behind closed doors. This is why feminism is needed, to question those who challenge the claims. So feminism is needed to fight the judicial system? Claims have to be challenged regardless of how sensitive the issue is. That's how it works. The hardest thing in this world is to live in it

Chelseaaaaaa 1,453
Poor Amber. The big rumor is she cheated on him with a photographer (the same woman that was allegedly causing trouble in their marriage last year because Depp was jealous) and he found out, but that is no reason to ever abuse someone. If it's true that he offered her hush money I am glad she opted for divorce. Johnny is nothing but a drunk going through a crisis now. His best years are behind him. Lion Heart 15,041
UPDATE: Amber Heard had no evidence of any injuries when cops came to her home Saturday night after getting a 911 call ... this according to LAPD law enforcement sources. As we reported, when cops arrived Amber refused to file a police report. She now claims Johnny hurled a cell phone at her face, badly bruising her eye, but our law enforcement sources say they saw no injury at all. In fact, we're told she never alleged any brutality ... just that they had an argument. Our sources say she refused to offer any more information, so they left. As we reported, sources connected with Johnny say Amber is lying ... making up the domestic violence story. One of the things Johnny points to is Instagram ... Amber was tagged in a pic showing she was partying with friends Sunday, the day after the alleged attack. The photo was deleted on Friday after the news media spotted it. The LAPD says they had no reason to believe Johnny Depp struck Amber Heard with his phone when they were called to the couple's apartment. http://www.tmz.com/2016/05/27/amber-heard-johnny-depp-cops-no-injuries/ ▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀

Claims have to be challenged regardless of how sensitive the issue is. That's how it works. I know, but I'm talking about the idea of a woman being disbelieved in the first place. All too often, when a woman claims that she's been abused in some way, it's shocking how many people are doubtful that she's telling the truth. I think it's sad how women are still so undermined in society, even in this day and age, that saying she's lying is the first place a lot of people go to. Men frequently say women have it good now because if we get abused, we can report it and something will be done. But unless you actually are a woman, you don't realise how that theory is easier said than done. All too often, women are afraid to report anything for various reasons and even if they do, their claims are brushed off, or it's stated that something will be done but it never is. So, yes, while the options to report are there, anything beneficial coming out of the report, or even a report occurring, isn't guaranteed. Of course, a court has every right to pick apart a case and work out the true story. And if the girl really is lying, well, she should face punishment for that. But the point is that her claim should be taken seriously until proved otherwise. Feminism has given women the right to be seen as innocent until proven guilty when it comes to abuse, which isn't how things were until fairly recently. My ultimate point is that some people say feminism isn't needed in modern society because women are equal now. But the doubtful cynicism and downright horrible accusations that are thrown at women when they report abuse is the evidence that we need feminism. To challenge the people who doubt just because she's a woman.

Most don't ever come forward due to fear of embarassment, particularly claims of domestic abuse or rape. Most cases will never even be reported let alone taken seriously. I don't think it's a feminism issue, it's more of an issue with the entirety of society, men and women, who don't take these claims seriously. On the flip side, we should also apply the same principle of innocent until proven guilty to both the victim and the accused because that is fair. An example I've seen is with Kesha, she had support from thousands and Luke was ostracised based solely on her claims however now he has been found innocent the stigma is still there and those thousands are still going to class him as a rapist or abuser. I'm not talking about this case specifically moreso how society perceives such cases. The hardest thing in this world is to live in it

I'm not talking about this case specifically moreso how society perceives such cases. Luke wasn't found innocent of the rape charge tho, they never went forward with this cause the alleged incident occurred almost a decade ago, so it's basically impossible to prove one way or another Also, there have been multiple instances where he's shown how nasty of a person he can be (e.g., when he used a sticker from a store-bought chicken to stick a counter-suit against Kesha on her mom's front door after Kesha got out of rehab, for an eating disorder that he drove her to, btw). Plus, many artists who've worked with him have came forward and stated how manipulative he is behind closed doors. Whereas this particular case is just Amber's words against Depp's, and that's about it. So these are very very different cases and should not be compared. But I agree that we shouldn't just believe one or the other without more evidence, cause like people have already stated, one's innocent until proven guilty. Amber could very well be lying. Yes I'm sure there are plenty of reasons why he could be this or that but largely it was dismissed due to a lack of evidence. Like I said I was more talking about how society perceives such cases rather than the actual case specifics itself. Society has automatically treated one as the victim and the other as the rapist regardless of fact or fiction based solely on a claim.
