Shaney 5,515
Is she? For me, yes. Without Gaga, I honestly don't even know if I would be alive right now. That sounds bad, but it's the truth. She has really changed me, and she let me know that it's okay to do whatever the fu*k I want to do. I just want so badly to meet her.
PartySick 160,485
Michael was my biggest influence as a child. He's instilled a sense of wonder and innocence in my heart and being that'll never go away. He shows me how to be free of judgment, carry myself with class and kindness, always see the bigger picture, and never get discouraged. Gaga helped me grow up and face some darker parts of life. It was because of the BTW album, Swine, Dope, and multiple speeches that I came to terms with some of the hardest or most traumatic things I've ever experienced. She also helped me come to terms with being gay after being raised to think gay people deserve to die and burn forever so says God. The community she started really helped me feel less alone too. There's hardly any other queer kids here and only one person that's been through anything like I have and he doesn't like to talk about it. You guys have influenced me almost as much as Gaga has Between them and the influence of my close friends (and my own personality of course) I am who I am today I could never thank the two of them enough for just existing and doing what they did/do. You're stinky
ThisGuyTony 30,698
I wouldn't have explored gay culture and further explored those parts of me if I didn't stan her tbh. So I guess so.
ChasingGhosts 726
I don't think its fair to say she is my biggest. But she is in the Top 3 of artists who influence me as an artist and a person. Born This Way > Joanne > The Fame Monster > The Fame > ARTPOP
Nicole 1,809
Yeah. I mean, I respect her so much as a person and as an artist and I can say she inspired me to "hang in there" when I became depressed and when my anxiety started to peak. Her own battle with depression and anxiety and how must happier and healthier she is now has probably been the most inspiring thing she has done for me personally. (obviously what she has done for the LGBT+ community is incredible but didn't really change my personal life/problems as I am straight). It's very much a "she's gotten through it, so can I". I don't, nor should anybody, expect her to be the cure for my/their problems, I can't imagine the burden she must feel sometimes when she hears a range of not so happy stories every day. SychosSoChic 9,995
When I was younger definitely. She helped instill that sense of pride I have in myself as a homosexual. But now? Not so much. Life ain't Hollywood for any one of us.
notamember 667
Yes absolutely. There is no one I admire and look up to more than her. She has helped me through every step of life since the beginning of her career. She was my crutch (or my wheelchair ) from TFM to ARTPOP and now I'm in a better place (sort of) and ready for her to slay me and give me music that makes me feel happy and free.
