that's the thing: your example is straightforward/sound to you, according to your logic and your view. we view it, whether it's this thread trying to prove that gagz/katy is not shady in a reverse way or your capitalist applause argument, from another perspective. 

Well, then tell me that other perspective about that example I'm seriously interested to know. And I actually replied to those questions about the poll options every single time, I didn't ignore it. I just didn't give you the answer you wanted. But eventually you're the one who dropped the matter, not me. Don't twist things.

Exactly.  Most of the statements that journalists spin as "shade" is not really shade, but are taken out of context or written into an article that is set up so that the so-called "shady quote" will be viewed negatively.  Much of the time the seemingly shaded artist knows the statement was either just for fun or for publicity (it's a win-win when artists are in the news) and they think nothing of it even if the public believes it's shade.  The artists know each other and respect each other because they know that every artist is just a person trying to make his or her way through a tough and demanding industry.  I believe only a fraction of what the public sees as shade is really shade.

As for Gaga in particular, she generally praises and supports other artists.  It's part of her character as a person, her wider view of the world.  She sees the best in everyone, and believes everyone is worthy of love, kindness, and respect.  Gaga expresses her opinions, such as on lip-syncing and other things, but she doesn't say people who do so are bad people that don't deserve support and respect.  I recently came across one of the many wonderful quotes that defines Gaga as a person:   "I feel like if you’re a really good human being, you can try to find something beautiful in every single person, no matter what." –Lady Gaga.

People who believe Gaga hates on Katy or Madonna just don't understand that is contrary to who she is.
