"The Romanian hacker who claimed he easily breached Hillary Clinton's email server pleaded guilty Wednesday in federal court to two counts of computer hacking charges, as part of a deal with the Justice Department.

In exchange for a reduced sentence, Marcel Lehel Lazar – also known as Guccifer -- has agreed to cooperate with federal authorities in the future.

Lazar pleaded guilty to the unauthorized access of a protected computer and aggravated identity theft, counts tied to his illegal intrusion into systems belonging to former U.S. government officials, including former Clinton adviser Sidney Blumenthal and former Secretary of State Colin Powell.

Under the deal, Lazar faces seven years in prison and up to $500,000 in fines.

The alleged hacking crimes are separate from Lazar’s claims of having breached Clinton’s personal server. The plea agreement does not mention the FBI investigation of Clinton's email practices or his claims that he accessed her private server in March 2013. Such agreements typically do not stipulate how a defendant will aid the government. "

He must have something big that the Justice Department wants. This has not been a good day for Hillary Clinton. #HereComesTrump

Well if he breached all of their systems then Hillary would just be another victim as opposed to being a special case. This would only make the case against her weaker as she would have been breached either way. There is actual proof of him breaching the State Department. Hillary's is still up in the air. I did see one document on the Internet once but it could have been doctored....it's the Internet after all.

To be honest this seems more and more to be a fault with the system as opposed to the employees. Apparently every SoS for the last few decades has had issues. Seems like a systematic problem as opposed to an isolated incident.

Not that it makes Hillary look better and this will still be fodder for Trump, but I don't see how it could warrant an indictment. She broke the rules, not the law, and at worst this would normally get her fired (along with every other SoS) or even sued by the Department but not arrested.

That's the problem though, the server wasn't under the state departments "jurisdiction" per say, so anything breached or compromised would be considered her doing. She really should have asked for clearance on this, if indications are as clear cut as they seem, it would have been denied and this mess wouldn't even be an issue :deadbanana:

Right but this seems to be a systematic problem, so isolating Clinton would be egregious.
