Having guns restricted to professional or hunting environments is not good enough for a lot of people. They want the freedom to have a gun to protect themselves. I dont think it leaves people as vulnerable as what many Americans assume Most of the developed world has gun control laws and our murder rates and general crime rates are actually lower than in the US Australia for example used to be more liberal with guns and then placed gun control laws. Their population freaked out the same way Americans do now. But it did not result in increased robberies or murders as they feared In most cases robbers will rob when they know no one is home. And in rare instances they break in when someone is home, more often than not they run away when they realize u are home cuz they fear u will call the cops... But if you have a gun you are a bigger immediate threat to them which might explain why in the US criminals resort to using their guns more often Statistics from other Nations simply dont support the Notion that gun control leaves the population vulnerable. He's not stealing anything from Bernie, and she is trying to harm the firearms industry. 1 hour ago, Economy said: Here in Canada we have strict gun laws. The majority of the population isnt allowed to own one. That's just because they don't bother to get the license. Second, the stricter laws don't have much effect. We always had less violence than the US, even back when anyone could purchase Kalashnikovs and similar things, and the violent crime rate has been going down. Also, all high-profile mass shootings here have involved registered guns, and were usually committed by the licensed owners too. 1 hour ago, Economy said: But people can be licensed to own them for proffesional reasons such as if you are a police or a security guard etc. You can also obtain licenses for guns for hunting purposes only Nope, you can also obtain a license for work, target shooting or collecting. 1 hour ago, Economy said: So what Trump is saying is stupid. No Country that I know of bans guns all together and that isnt what Hilary suggested. Were talking control only It's not stupid, it's populist. He was saying that allowing for lawsuits against gun manufacturers would shut down the manufacturers in this country, due to the cost of defending against lawsuits. It was already happening. People are still trying to make it happen. Why do you think the protective legislation was passed in the first place? Ruger had to pay big bucks to a dumb kid who broke into someone's house, stole a revolver and accidentally shot his own leg off. The jury found Ruger 60% liable! Robert Yarbrough was thirteen years old when he and fourteen-year-old Rusty Cowart stole a number of guns and other property from at least two houses in their neighborhood. One of those guns was a .44 caliber Sturm, Ruger single action revolver. Yarbrough and Cowart carried the firearms around in a paper bag, apparently playing with them and attempting to sell them. Although the boys had found the revolver unloaded, they obtained ammunition and carried it fully loaded, with the hammer forward over a live cartridge. A few days after the theft, while Yarbrough and Cowart were, ironically, walking past the house from which they had stolen the revolver, after failing to sell the stolen firearms, one boy began to hand the bag to the other. The bag either dropped or gave way. The revolver hit the pavement and discharged, wounding Yarbrough in the leg, which eventually was amputated above the knee. Also, look at the ridiculous message Ruger was forced to place on their firearms. "I am the world's greatest person that does not want to let people into the country."—US President Donald J. It just makes me think that. Why are you anti-gun control? Any legislation even being hinted at is purely to make sure guns don't legally fall into the hands of people who shouldn't have them. Closing loopholes, security issues, and improving background checks while broadening the spectrum of people that shouldn't be allowed to own a gun (someone on the no fly list, for example). It has nothing to do with confiscating guns or taking away Americans' right to legally, and responsibly, own a firearm Whimsical bitch
