I think so.

The Fame (Monster) sold like 1M copies there. TFM alone, 500k? If I remember correctly?

Born This Way, like 700K?

ARTPOP like the same as UK, 200k?

Even Cheek To Cheek, without promo, and Japan isn't into jazz, sold like 60k??? that's a lot. More than some pop albums.

Tour wise, 96,550 people for the Born This Way Ball  with a gross of 18M

artRAVE, the highest gross of the tour  2 stadiums, 50,453 people & $7,874,436

It's just that the Japanese music industry hasn't declined as fast as the other markets.

Gaga was clever enough to get a hold of the market.

Isn't she one of the only 4 Western artists to have a #1 song on the overall Singles chart?

They are. Their culture is as crazy as the lady herself so it's no wonder :sis:

Inside, we are really made the same. 🕊

I'm currently living in Japan and what I've noticed is that here Lady Gaga is like the quintessential pop superstar. You don't really hear her music on the radio or in clubs, but whenever someone mentions pop superstars they bring up Lady Gaga. At my university, every time they mention American stars as examples for whatever, it's either Michael Jackson, Leonardo DiCaprio or Lady Gaga.

Or at least that's my experience. And I love it. :hor:

Oh, I'm just visiting-

Yes, but keep in mind, for concerts and record sales, people from neighboring countries may also attending the show and bought the Japanese version of CDs online such as Amazon Japan and YesAsia which are official place to purchase and counts as sales.

What I admire the most from Japanese fans are not these things, but that they know how to have fun at shows. When Gaga asks to sing they will sing, and not busy recording with their phones and missing the moments.

And they really all out with their costumes, dressing up either as Gaga or whatever, none of those boring tees and jeans unless they are late. everyone attending the show all dressed up

I mean, look at these

I've always felt like Japanese monsters try to "adopt" Gaga :toofunny:
