giskardsb 12,565
Funk is synonymous with "makes you want to move." Any choreographer that can't handle funk doesn't deserve to be in the business. In fact one advantage is that it would allow more creativity in using hip hop styles, which would be really cool and bring some freshness to the dance routines. and if you want to go back to funk "basics" you need to do better than whats in the OP. Although Stevie Wonder as shown in Gaga's performances above is a great example of Funk/Pop. Disco on the other hand is simply Funk without Soul. Well but Uptown Funk is funk WITH elements of disco. And it's pretty easy to choreograph disco. But funk itself? That's what I fear.

As said in Wikipedia, Funk de-emphasizes melody and chord progressions, and focuses more on the groove. And I love it when Gaga writes songs that sound big, dramatic and emotional, and she's really capable of it. Songs like Bad Romance, despite it being a dance song, that chorus just hits you so hard! Ok let me hand in my stan card. I do know what you mean, I love the explosions and passion in her songs that you can her her voice too, but perhaps they will be pop, dramatic and hard hitting with a slight funk mixed in there ? @W0RLDofGAGA

However, I still aren't a huge fan of funk. I'm sure if Gaga puts out a good album and I like her interpretation of the genre then great, after all Gaga has a habit of being successful at trying new genres but it is what it is and you like what you like really. The hardest thing in this world is to live in it
