ctherainbow 3,162
There are very few contemporary pop artists out there who I would describe as having what I would call the "messiah quality"; a down-to-earth personality, but with the ability to pull off epic performances that have a message of empowerment which resonates for a vast number of fans. For me, at least, the combination of powerful vocals with an authentic, personal message gives an artist the "messiah quality", and makes the fans feel like they can actually achieve their dreams, and that the artist, though they're not a personal friend, is rooting for them to succeed and overcome the difficulties in their lives. I personally(and a lot of you probably agree) got that feeling from BTW-era Gaga, but I haven't felt the same about another artist until I encountered Emeli Sande. If you're not familiar with her work, watch the video below: Now, I dunno if it's just me, but I get the exact same feels from an Emeli performance that I got from a live Hair performance during the height of BTW, and I'd like to know if other people agree. Is it just me? I'm not gonna include any examples of Gaga's soul-stirring, empowering performances to compare against, because I'm sure you all already have a favorite. Just saying, I would KILL to see Gaga and Emeli work together. They could put together the soulpop empowerment anthem of the millenium. I know this thread is oddly specific. Figured it'd be a good change of pace from all the "where the hell is LG5/Gaga is taking too long" threads. I'm talkin' 'bout forever, baby.
Addison Rae 16,962
I LIVE for Emeli, she ha a been one of my favourite artists for a long long time. I definitely feel that from her too, I felt it from Gaga during the Monster ball, especially with that famous speech of hers. Not sure if Gags and Emeli would sound good together but I think on a funky R&B bop, it could have potential. And finally, a different thread from all of the LG5 questions because y'all know that ain't never coming. sitting on his lap sipping diet pepsi

Like, I dunno if they could pull off a Read All About It Part 7, but a Posh Life or Wonder style track might sound good. I'm talkin' 'bout forever, baby. Miel 15,009
Emeli is a fantastic artist. Next To Me was one of the best songs of 2012, imo. 3 points in and ready for more
