LebaneseDude 6,146
Watch the whole video before commenting out of context. Via Mediaite Former Secretary of State and current Democratic presidential frontrunner Hillary Clinton made some news Thursday afternoon when she declared that the Democratic nomination is already hers, telling CNN’s Chris Cuomo that “I will be the nominee of my party,” and adding, “That is already done, in effect. There is no way that I won’t be.” That declaration came as Cuomo asked her what would happen in a general election against Donald Trump once the Democratic nominating contest is decided. Cuomo also asked Secretary Clinton for her reaction to the behavior of Bernie Sanders supporters at this past weekend’s Nevada Democratic Convention, and Hillary cannily avoided denouncing Sanders’ supporters, saying only that she was “disturbed by what we saw,” obviously with an eye toward unifying the party. ---- 3 million voters over the competition, 300 delegates ahead, and good performance in swing states. Was there any doubt? ------ To those who didn't bother to watch the video before commenting, as always: Interviewer: Where is this confidence coming from? Hillary: From experience. I won 9 out of the last 12 contests. Back in '08 I won Indiana, Kentucky, West Virgina... So I know the intense feelings that arise particularly among your supporters. But we were both following the same rules, just like Sanders and I have followed the same rules. But I am 3 million votes ahead of him and I have an insurmountable lead in pledged delegates, and I am confident that just as I did with Senator Obama where I said: "You know what, it was really close." Much closer than it is between me and Senator Sanders, both votewise and delegate wise. I had more popular votes but I had fewer delegates, and the name of the game is who has more delegates. So when I withdrew and endorsed Obama, about 40% of my supporters said they would never support him. So I worked really hard to make the case,as I'm sure Sanders will, that whatever differences we may have they pale in comparison to the presumptive nominee of the Republican party in whatever issue you care about domestic or international.
