How far is that from the Egypt airspace? Like, did it fly to a whole another destination?

Anyway, these flights missing is creeping me out tbh. So many these last years... :S

Floating pieces of wreckage have been found 260 miles from the coast of Crete. The aircraft was still within the Egyptian ATC area.

Car crashes are way too common, whilst airplane incidents/accidents rarely happen.  Of course the latter would be a bigger deal, especially since there can be hundreds of passengers in a single plane; more casualties.

Nonetheless, that's very disgusting and insensitive of you to say.

1) Because at first the plane was missing, so the point was to find it. 2) Because this may not be accidental, and it affected a lot more people than a car crash. If they died from terrorism, it is a pretty big deal.

Why do you wish it was you who died? For the attention?

"Greek defence minister Panos Kammenos said the aircraft was in Egyptian airspace and flying at 37,000ft when it made "sudden swerves" and plunged to 15,000ft.

He said it swerved "90 degrees left and then 360 degrees to the right" before vanishing.

Authorities are examining CCTV footage at Charles de Gaulle Airport - and investigating an account from the captain of a merchant ship who reported seeing a "flame in the sky" some 130 nautical miles south of Karpathos."

Are such maneuvers possible? Wasn't the pilot seasoned and experienced? Why would he make turns like that unless the plane was commandeered?

To make a 90 degree turn left and a 360 circle right? Then drop from 37,000 feet to 15,000 feet?

Very sad for the families of those on board and unnerving for those traveling by flight in the future...

Stand in the light, cast your shadow.

It's possible to maneuver like that if it had, for example, experienced an explosion, then spiraled into a free fall.

Update: EgyptAir now saying the debris found is NOT from missing plane.
