Lady Gaga, You're Waiting Too Long

The actual TRUTH of it all is that only little monsters who constantly wait and do nothing else are affected by her taking her time... The GP and true fans are ready when she's ready. When she is READY she will come back and the public will embrace her and praise her... because ever since Bobby became her manager, and touring with Tony, and all the praised tributes, and AHS, and the golden globe,

she's on a positive trajectory and will continue to rise - the ARTPOP days are over. Don't worry so much.

In the words of Gaga:  "it's just pop music it's not brain surgery"

....but the wait does suck i'll admit :derpga:

I will wait for her, no matter how long, but I do agree with the OP, she really doesn't have the luxury to take her time. Quality over popularity, yes, but Gaga is a pop star, after all.

Whoa RedOne just released a single (DYNS). So he trying to make producer album (since a lot of producers coming out making album like Avicii, Mark Ronson, Calvin Harris, Etc)

I started to think maybe there will be RedOne featuring Gaga, fingers crossed. or reverse in LG5. I'm okay with both of em. It's like Where Are U Now.

Or, maybe gaga split with redone because redone is too pop-py, and paved different way... (though his producing songs recently quite a smash, vivir mi vida etc)

It just mean many of youngins are new with this experience and impatient. Older folks have at least experienced such thing before with their past idols or still is.

It takes 4 years, for Madonna to make Ray Of Light from Bedtime Stories. 4 years of waiting for her fans. What Gaga spend to make LG5 is not nearly long enough. Seriously, take a breather and be patient.

Actually Madge took months for some of her album that were hee best :emma: that's off topic but meh

It's not really Gaga that changed but the industry itself. The 2009-2013 time is over. The big popstar (Katy, nick...) doesn't wear crazy outfits anymore too. The colorul and pops tar belongs to that time. And if you didn't notice they releasing way more mature music now (Miley Cyrus and her dead petz, the pinkprint, anti, revival...) and Katy and gaga will probably follow

"Gaga will probably follow"?

Excuse me but what do you think Cheek to Cheek was? Gaga led the change in 2014 towards mature music. It was basically her telling all the crazy costume copycats in pop music to grow up and just be yourself.

This.

It seems like she's either experiencing writers block or is just not finding the right footing on what to do with the album. Afterall, a lot of her music has been about fame and she has to take a step into some other territory, but where?

This is a good thing to think about. In the time leading up to creating The Fame she was literally studying fame, living and partying around people who she was analyzing to interpret their views of fame and creating her own method of interacting in a superficial world. That kind of internalized thought about such an external lifestyle could fuel a lot of inspiration. Then she becomes famous, in both senses of the word, which further drives the concept and brings more into the ideas.

Then you go from TF and TFM to BTW, which was inspired by her connection to fans and even kinda built on the idea of creating yourself the way you want to be (like she did through her interpretation of Fame), but the album also brought in elements of Gaga's roots, particularly the rock influences and some sounds of the 80s, the decade she was born.

After that we get ARTPOP, which sortof ditched the fame concepts (somewhat) and moved into directly referenced ART whereas previously in her career the references were more indirect and inspirational in execution. Now, theoretically this should have worked because putting ART into POP was definitely something she'd been doing for YEARS, but I think the way the people around her were treating her kinda took the fire out from her inspiration, and when the fans didn't really stand by her like we used to she just kinda threw her hands up into the air.

So yeah- where DOES she go from that?!

You can't rush perfection but this whole distant thing is kind of slowly driving me crazy.

You can't spend your entire career being transparent with the people who made you famous then shut them out and go all Hollywood/LA without repercussions. You're not going to have too many people on your side if you basically flip flop and abandon things.

I wish she would just talk to us once in a while, I mean it's not required of her to do so but it's kinda naive to think that everyone will be waiting in the wings like nothing happened when she comes back, she needs to give a reason for people to stay. She's going to need to fight to bring most of those people back who were done with her and the waiting.

I mean I've got other stuff going on but I miss that interaction. I miss her, period.

All true, but maybe Gaga doesn't care, she is just wrapped up with creating and producing, and is willing to live with the fans that remain and new fans that come on board.   Maybe she doesn't want to stress over losing fans that can't wait.

I live outside the space time continuum.

It's a really hectic year, so I can't really feel the wait. To me it doesn't feel long yet even though it obviously is the longest wait compared to previous eras. It's the way life goes I guess. Back then I had a lot more leisure time to enjoy her music, so the wait was perilous. Now she could drop the album and I'd feel the wait was moderate, but the bad thing is  I would be unable to appreciate the era properly with dedication (follow livestreams, freak out and fangirl on this site, talk about it with friends etc), because I'm doing 12 hour shifts including a 1 hour travel time to the place and back :emma::(

Oh god. Not one of these again.

Its sh!t like this that gets so many of us (the ones that understand and are patient) heated and end up lashing out, inexcusably. More so, the typical Monster trope; "i miss the old Gaga" - Gurl, its been the same Gaga ever since she blossomed with prestige. Like, what are even doing... JUST because shes taking nearly THREE years to produce and compose some great material for us, and then theres these monsters that whine and bicker and pretty much stab her in the back because they CANT FATHOM IT ANY LONGER... ITS NO WONDER PEOPLE, THAT SHES NOT ACTIVE OR ENGAGING WITH US ON A NEAR DAILY BASIS... The constant negativity is literally reaching beyond the pre-ARTPOP blackout era with some Monsters... Guys. Chill. Listen to some BTW bops in the mean time, watch/rewatch Gaga vids. We just need to chill out. Honestly guys. Please.

its not about complaining, its about not feeling connected and really not feeling like the stan i used to be. It's an important thing to acknowledge because she's already lost a chunk of fans since ARTPOP (i know people that were stans and now could care less about her) and if a good portion of us are starting to become less enthusiastic, it means something. This isn't ur typical "wah she's taking too long im angry" thread.
