From ABC News

Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto today unleashed a flurry of tweets that recognize today’s International Day Against Homophobia & Transphobia and call for immediate marriage equality nationwide. Same-sex marriage is recognized in all 31 Mexican states, but currently only eight states have enacted laws that allow gay couples to marry locally without going to court.

Speaking at an event on the International Day Against Homophobia, Pena Nieto said he signed initiatives that would seek to add same-sex marriage provisions to Mexico’s constitution and the national civil code.

Pena Nieto said he would seek to reform Article 4 of the constitution to clearly reflect the Supreme Court opinion “to recognize as a human right that people can enter into marriage without any kind of discrimination.”

“That is, for marriages to be carried out without discrimination on the basis of ethnicity or nationality, of disabilities, of social or health conditions, of religion, of gender or sexual preference,” he added.

He's crap. All the things he said are lies. Citizens didn't even vite for him. INE is such a fraud.

On topic, I thought we were progressing but we're just going back to our hole. I don't find a way to be proud of Mexico. The petroleum is sold (there goes Lazaro Cardenasand his government) and the government is doing nothing. Every thing that happened, independence, revolutions, wars, movements are gone.

I don't want to live here anymore. I can't get out from home because of the movements for teachers, and workers.

Edit: I didn't read well :emma: but my opinion will be the same

This is kind of off topic, but I dislike the image of the men holding the rainbow colored flag. I feel like it's disrespectful to the Iwo Jima and 9/11 incidents. Why not create an original picture that would represent us and the whole movement?

It's not disrespectful at all. It pays tribute to it.

If you're implying the 60+ year LGBT fight for tolerance and equality is of less magnitude (not counting the years over the course of humanity), then I don't know what to say.
