Bernie Sanders polled higher than both in one-on-one matchups, winning a potential contest with Trump 47 percent to 42 percent. Although Clinton seems poised to win her party’s nomination, the AJC poll is among a string of surveys bolstering Sanders’ case that he poses the bigger threat to Trump. Both front-runners have sky-high name recognition — and devastatingly high unavailability ratings. Nearly two out of three voters have a negative view of Clinton, including a crushing majority of Republicans. A slightly lower number of voters have a negative view of Trump, including a crushing majority of Democrats. In short, partisans from both sides hate the other party’s candidate. That gives Georgia’s independent voters, a reliably conservative bunch that has backed Republicans the past two decades, an even more influential role in November. The poll found independents were split right down the middle over the leading contenders. Luiz 4,253 Posted May 15, 2016 Share Posted May 15, 2016 well with bernie the dems will be united against trump so i can see how he would do better in the national a bernie supporting #NeverHillary voter will actually not vote and hurt the dems but there isnt a #NeverBernie movement and the only reason there would be one that i could see is if the feminists get pissed that bernie is the nom and not a woman. they wouldnt let trump win tho so i'm sure they'd support bernie too. most likely though it wont matter. once the republicans start in on him i bet trump will tip the scales in his favor like hes beginning to do against hillary. It's all I have at this point Bernie's determined to stay in until the last second unfortunately. I'm hopeful that he puts in work for Hillary come June regardless. They voted the same what? 93% of the time?
