Sky del Blue 2,975
We share the same addiction. When it comes to music and music events, Gaga is my no.1 and ESC is a close 2nd. I'm literally counting down the days until the show. About this year.. I believe Italy is going to win, not just because everyone is talking about it but because they have a really amazing song and Francesco is kinda cute, song also has over 80 million views on YT and is a big hit already. I've seen a lot of this year's artists imitating trends from popular culture, for example Spain went with tropical music sound that is obviously very present in pop music right now, Germany tried to copy Sia's Titanium etc. But still, there are a lot of amazing singers. I've never been to Eurovision but I'd certainly love to go. I plan to go to college to UK next year so I hope UK wins at least once in the next five years although they are not really popular right now (they have really poor song choices). PanPikus 9,879
I watch only if there is interesting representative form my country. Why is it wrong for a country to enforce their laws on everyone equally? And how does that stop the contest in any way to 'celebrate diversity'? BTw, 1944 WAS NOT a political song. It was a song about Ukraine's history. Why can't a person sing about their nation's history? You could basically say that about all the LGBT songs in ESC. They are actually more political than 1944. Russia, on the other hand, does nothing else but politics when it comes to ESC. Yes, I feel sorry for Yulia and her unfortunate situation in life and this contest, but it's actually pretty understandable and isn't even a question, why isn't she allowed in the country... What has been done - is done. Exactly. 1944 as a song isn't more political than Waterloo. The political thing here was the timing, which can't be judged objectively by the EBU. Let's also not act like Russia sent their sad victim act as a strategy. I feel bad for the girl because she genuinely seems nice, but I also feel bad for her because she was mostly chosen because they knew it would make the contest a political shitshow and allow for good propaganda (Ukrainian neo-nazi gays BOO disabled poor thing!) I loved her in the wiwibloggs interview Well arrogant is maybe the wrong word, but her personality seems to be a little bit fake/acted. Like she is trying to be funny, but isn't really. But maybe it's because she can't express herself that good in English.
benKo 3,359
I watched the ESC every year since 2010 (My first ESC and my land won ), but I have the feeling it get's worse every year... I can't say much about this year, because I only watch the final and the only song I listen to before the final is Germany. And Germany get's worse every year, too... In my opinion, our song is a catastrophe this time. But back to topic: Yes, I watch it every year and I'll count the days only to think what generic pop songs I heard in the past hours. But I enjoy it
